We’ve been shouting for years that there’s a great need and desire for indoor skate parks. The numbers dont lie. Just wish the city would listen and give us a forever home.

Last day at this location. I don’t feel a loss because we learned, grew, and experienced so much there. I opened 5050 with Ed when I was just 23 years old, against all of our family’s judgment. We felt so strongly about it because we knew the need was so great, but I don’t think either of us ever imagined it would grow into what it did.
Everything about it was so casual. One day Ed came home exhausted after another civic meeting trying to get the city to rebuild our public skatepark. I asked him how much would it cost for him to build our own park if he did all the labor and I ran it. We sat down, ran the numbers and much like my personality, I was rushing to purchase a name and website the next night. Thankfully, John Coyle was home and helped me come up with the name 5050 Skatepark.
That’s the most amazing aspect to me. It was a complete community effort. Tom G became the graphic designer, Mike T the screen printer, Amanda the baker, Alexis and Eric photographers, Nazzaro maintenance, Tommy, Hannah, Victoria front desk, Melissa childcare, Danny advertising, Bupsy security, web design, sound system, and so much more. All the artists, designers, carpenters, and welders, that started out here and now went on to do that professionally. We really appreciate all you.
All instructors/representatives I’m sorry if I left you out, it’s pretty much all of SI ❤️ and of course all the parents that were trusting enough to leave their children with us lol love you all!!

The park may not be open, but we are always building something. Last month the crew went out to New Orleans and transformed an old airplane terminal into a skatepark for Redbull. Check out the build video!
