GLSEN Changing the Game LGBTQ+ affirming athletic policies can make a difference in students’ lives. When LGBTQ+ students are able to play sports and are accepted as classmates, teammates, and competitors, they gain access to the same physical, social, and emotional benefits extended to all who participate in sports.

Nominate an outstanding Physical Education teacher, coach, administrator who has been impactful to Making your school inclusive!

GSAs who have advocated for LGBTQ inclusion in sports and Physical Education classes should be nominated and recognized for their outstanding work!

Nominations are open through March 13th

Nominations Now Open for 2020 Educator of the Year and GSA of the Year! It’s been such a challenging few years for so many people in our country, with a seemingly endless stream of bad news at the federal level impacting people of color, immigrants, people of different faiths, and le***an, gay, bisexual and, especially, transgender people.

At a moment in which transgender youth are under attack like never before in Alabama and nationwide, we must all stand together to defeat these harmful, discriminatory bills:

“Do people realize the pain and suffering that people really have to go through just to do what they do every day?” he wonders. “Getting on a team as a man, with all cis men as football player—that’s intimidating. I don’t know if people realize that.”
