Yellers!
How have you found joy through grief?
For me it's been through awareness and acknowledgement. Kinda like seeing the silver lining in a cloud, but deeper. It's learning how to lean into the grief while also recognizing that there are things to be grateful for. It's acknowledging the hard stuff and the good stuff.
It's not easy to do especially if you're in the throes of grief. It takes consistent practice, and the grace to know it might not happen every day.
I like to make it a practice. Every day when I wake up, I think about all the things I'm grateful for... yes, there are the obvious ones like family, friends and Boomer πΆ... but how about all the other ones like the rain that feeds the flowers π, the impromptu walk with a friend, or the quiet drive to work. All of those things count.
So... if you're feeling heavy, take a minute and make a list. Add to it every day. It won't erase the grief, but it has the potential to help you find some joy in the mess.
I love you. β€οΈ
