Suzanne Suor writes: Had a great lesson with Dave Minteer today on the trails behind Black Prong. Dave thinks like a horse and translates for those of us who don't. He helps you remember all the things you've heard but somehow forget when you're riding through the woods. Luckily we encountered NO alligators or wild boar, though I've been warned they're out there.

Great day, watching every horse make progress. Nice job Joann, as always. Thanks Andrea.

Training tip from Dave: If you wonder what your horse is thinking, they know what you're thinking. Every time you ride you are training your horse. Think about what you want him to do better or begin to learn.

Elaine Polle brought her horse, Tenabo’s Gold, to Dave Minteer more than a decade ago. During that time she kept a detailed journal of Dave’s work with her unbroken mustang. Many of us who work with Dave wonder how he has the patience to repeat himself over and over again. It occurred to us if we put as many of his tips as we can in writing, it will help all of us remember and keep “channeling Dave.” We've published a book of Dave's tips (more to come on that) and we plan to add to what we've started here on Facebook.
April 5...Here's today's tip from Dave. All horses are creatures of habit. You want to work on developing only good habits with your horse. It is much easier to establish good habits than it is to fix bad habits. Make a list of the good habits you want your horse to have. Send us a message about advice you need to make it happen and we'll share Dave's tips here.
