This summer, in partnership with City Councilmember Chi Osse’s office and RISE Project, KAVI's Project UNSILENCED hosted a three part summer series, Cuts & Culture: Barbershop and Beauty Salon Talks, that fostered intergenerational conversations around healthy relationship dynamics and gender norms. The series, recognizing barbers and hair braiders as pillars of Black communities, opened up the Brooklyn community to critical dialogue about the cultural factors and accepted behaviors that lead to sexual violence and gender-based violence (SGBV). The summer finale event, on August 7th outside of Restoration Plaza and will include:

🎵Music
📍Activation stations with interactive activities from partner organizations such as A Call To Men, Brooklyn GrowHouse, Arthur Ashe, Project STAY, and more.
