Episode 83: Coaching and Financial Literacy: Thinking About Retirement 05/25/2020

NEW PODCAST!

This week on The Coaching Journey Podcast we continue our discussion on coaching and financial literacy. Last week our episode focused on setting the foundations for your financial success, and this week we look at "what's next."

401K...IRA...Roth IRA...SEP IRA, the word jumble can be confusing to many. We discuss your potential options when preparing for retirement, and things to look out for as you continue on your journey towards financial literacy! An important discussion that many coaches, especially younger coaches, should start to think about.

Episode 82: Coaching and Financial Literacy...Wait, What? 05/18/2020

NEW PODCAST!

Oftentimes coaches go on courses to learn the nuances of technical development, tactics, psycho-social development and much more. In a nontraditional job like coaching, however, what often gets ignored is financial literacy. Given the current crisis that the majority of the world finds itself in currently, I thought this would be as good a time as any to talk about my journey going from "get a new car on that salary" financially illiterate to a much better path today and how anyone can get started!

For some, it may just be common sense. It may be what you've been doing already. For others, it may be some needed information that I have found many coaches, especially those starting off in the profession, don't receive yet desperately need.

Episode 81: Coaching, and Living, During Covid-19 05/11/2020

NEW PODCAST!

With Coronavirus affecting most of our daily lives, I have been thinking recently on the importance of establishing routines to try and bring some normalcy to a time that is anything but normal.

Although we may need to alter some of them, or include a mask and some extra vigorous hand-washing now, the importance of letting ourselves find some escapes during this crisis, whether that be with our personal or professional lives, is more important now than ever.

I talk about coaching, and life, during coronavirus, and I want to know what that has looked like for you.

With rumors swirling around for quite a while, the closure of the US Soccer Development Academy is now official.

Unfortunately, as US Soccer has proven time and time again, the direction of its leadership is one lacking in transparency and player-centered values. Blaming COVID-19 for a decision that has been discussed behind the scenes for months is another indicator of that.

There are some incredibly good people and talented professionals who work at US Soccer. The contrast between those individuals and the overall identity of US Soccer’s management is shocking.

The past, sadly, has shown us that nothing seems to change with regards to the management of US Soccer, but we can only hope it might one day be led in a direction where the interests of the many are served rather than the interests of the select few.
