This is one of the most important distinctions in the work I teach.

Women who took my inner child workshop told me that they spent years in therapy talking about their childhood, they went to workshops doing exercises like coloring inner-child workbooks and they have journals filled with self reflection exercises.

And still not much changed in their lives.

Because sometimes we are trying to heal the wounded child from another wounded part of ourselves - the wounded adult woman.

The anxious part tries to fix her.
The perfectionist tries to control her.
The people-pleaser tries to make her lovable.
