Yesterday, members of RTNY2 attended the Street Naming Ceremony honoring the service of Louis V. Ferraco, Infantry 157, a Vietnam Army veteran, and 2X Purple Heart recipient. He was favorably known as the mayor of Greeley Avenue. Thank you for your service and sacrifice 🇺🇲

Today we remember U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Michael Ollis, of Staten Island, N.Y. During a joint mission with Afghan Army soldiers near Forward Operating Base Howz-e-Madad, in southern Afghanistan, according to the Army Times, Ollis was killed after stepping in the path of an unarmed Polish officer, protecting him from a su***de bomber, when he was killed in Afghanistan on Aug. 28, 2013.
