It’s kinda chic to be an MCDE dancer!

Days 3 and 4 of Nationals featured many group dances, four of which made it to the Showcase on the final day! Group dances, solos, and duets performed with high scores and judges awards. Special shoutout to Sam, who performed her last solo at Nationals, and Ava, who was crowned Miss Star of Hope and was awarded the Larry and Helen Rose — Lamar University scholarship. Great job girls!

Day 2 Recap! We performed our productions and our opening number, School’s Out, was chosen to perform again on Friday’s battle! Some of our solos, duets, and trios also performed last night! Can’t wait for the rest of the week!

Nationals Day 1 Recap! Our dancers attended the Ignite Dance Live workshop led by our very own Ignite Dynamite, Ava. Later in the day some soloists performed for title! We are so proud and are so excited for the rest of this week!

Meet the Teachers! This edition features Miss Erika! Miss Erika is a star choreographer for our Elite Competitive dancers. For the past two years she has created our high-energy, award-winning opening numbers. She also choreographs the alumni dance every year, creating the tradition to welcome dancers back home every year.

Last weekend we celebrated our 31st annual recital, “My Universe”! We celebrated dancers young and old, welcomed our alumni back home, and made memories to last a lifetime!
