A few weeks ago I went to Baja Mexico to photograph the Mobula Ray Migration, and this is what I saw!

The highlight for me was finding a fever of rays in super shallow, crystal-clear water right as the sun was setting and streaming through the surface. It was one of those moments where everything just lined up perfectly ✨

That being said, our guides told us this year had noticeably fewer rays than previous years, likely due to El Niño weather patterns and the rapid growth of tourism in the area. It’s a good reminder of why booking with trusted, responsible operators actually matters. The animals have to come first if we want encounters like this to exist for years to come.
