This one is a beautiful morning wake-up practice, a way to cultivate joy first thing and set the tone for your whole day.

Smiling (even a gentle, soft one) signals safety to your nervous system, activating the parasympathetic response and releasing endorphins. It's a simple way to shift your state before your mind even catches up.

How to do it:
Inhale halfway
Hold for 3–4 seconds
Sip in a little more air
Sigh it all out: softening into a smile

Ever leave a conversation feeling drained and not really know why? You walked in fine and walked out heavy.

A lot of the time, that weight isn't yours. You just picked it up without realizing.

Something that's helped me: imagine a container sitting next to you. When someone brings their stress or their bad mood your way, you let it flow into the container instead of into yourself. It's still there. You can see it. You're just not holding it.

You don't have to go cold or shut people out to do this. You can still care. You can still listen. The energy just doesn't have to become yours.
