Founded in 1976, Battery Dance stands for artistic excellence and social relevance.

Battery Dance connects the world through dance, from arts education and integrating refugees in Europe to presenting NYC's longest running public dance Festival.

Over the next two weeks, Battery Dance is offering an incredible lineup of FREE and $1 community dance workshops led by world-class teaching artists and festival performers!

First up: Rhythmic Arts Center NYC has partnered with us to offer two free workshops in their beautiful space. For more info, go to their page! 💃

Next: August 10 kicks off the festival with 4 free community workshops on stage at Wagner Park! This is your chance to dance on the iconic Battery Dance Festival stage, with views of the water and the Statue of Liberty. ✨

And finally: Our regular festival $1 workshops will be happening from August 11-16. Use the link in our bio to register!

This year’s Festival brings together a vibrant mix of cultures, styles, and perspectives—all on one stage in the heart of Battery Park City. And the best part? Every performance is FREE and open to the public.

Mark your calendars! ✨ The countdown is on for the 45th Annual Battery Dance Festival—our favorite week of the year!

⏳August 10-16 at the Robert F. Wagner Jr Park

Join us beginning Monday, August 10 for four FREE community workshops on the festival stage from 4:00–8:00 PM. Then, starting Tuesday, August 11, enjoy six nights of free performances featuring incredible dance artists from around the world through Sunday, August 16.

Saturday was an evening to remember! Working in partnership with Battery Park City Authority, Battery Dance presented America 250: Moving Together. It was a gorgeous night on the water filled with dance, story-telling, and deep connection.

Thank you to all the artists who performed so beautifully, to all the staff at Battery Dance and Battery Park City Authority who kept the event running smoothly, and to each and every audience member who brought their energy and support.

We hope you’ll join us for the upcoming 45th Annual Battery Dance Festival which runs from August 10-16!

Free Performance! In partnership with Battery Park City Authority we will be hosting an evening of live dance at the Robert F. Wagner, Jr. Park to mark the U.S semi-quincentennial.

The program will include two world premieres by Jock Soto and Sidra Bell Dance New York for Battery Dance as well as performances by Martha Graham Dance Company, Dancing Earth, Jamel Gaines Creative Outlet and Rosalie M. Jones
