Public housing residents were excluded from the state's Emergency Rental Assistance Program. This needs to be remedied. "We cannot abandon tenants or the buildings they call home. In the short-term, we must provide immediate relief to the nearly 50% of households who have fallen behind on rent." – Courtney Bryan, Center for Justice Innovation, on the NYC crisis.
NYCHA residents feel invisible. Even the governor's response only mentioned support for the buildings instead of rental assistance for the residents. NYCHA confirmed the numbers, we're in crisis mood. Families are in limbo.
