DID YOU KNOW? This is what an oil platform looks like before being submerged in the ocean.
The largest object in the world is made of concrete.
Wonders of engineering.
The record-holding largest object in the world is built of concrete. It is the Troll A marine platform, which extracts gas in the North Sea.
It is owned by Shell Oil and is the heaviest object ever transported by water from where it was constructed, on the coast, to its final location in the sea.
It was completed in 1991 and was moved by 10 ships over several days. It weighs 1,050,000 tons, and its construction used 245,000 cubic meters of concrete and approximately 100,000 tons of reinforced steel.
The Troll A in the North Sea is located 80 kilometers offshore northwest of Bergen, Norway. The platform is the largest ever transported, weighing 683,600 tons and standing 472 meters tall. The Troll A belongs to the gravity base foundations, meaning it rests on the seabed due to its weight. The construction of the platform cost $650 million at the time.
The Troll A platform is a milestone in engineering and has set several records in the Guinness Book. In 1996, it set the record as the largest oil platform in the world, a record later surpassed by the Petronius platform. In 2006, singer Katie Melua held a concert at its base, setting the record for the deepest underwater concert, 303 meters below sea level.
The Troll A platform has contributed to Norway's economic development, as the country is one of the world's largest exporters of natural gas. Additionally, the platform has helped reduce carbon dioxide emissions and improve air quality, as natural gas is a cleaner alternative compared to coal or diesel.
The technology used in the construction and operation of the Troll A platform has been revolutionary. Shell has developed technology to produce, liquefy, store, and offload gas onto floating liquefied natural gas carriers (FLNG) at sea. These advanced technologies allow access to remote natural gas fields and serve larger fields with various FLNG installations.
The environmental impact of the Troll A platform has been minimized thanks to directional drilling, which has played a crucial role in accessing the Troll field while simultaneously reducing environmental impact. Directional drilling tools provide real-time data to guide the drilling process, ensuring precise well placement.
In summary, the Troll A in the North Sea is a natural gas extraction platform owned by Shell that has contributed to Norway's economic development and helped reduce carbon dioxide emissions and improve air quality. The technology used in its construction and operation has been revolutionary and has minimized environmental impact.

A hillbilly went hunting one day in West Virginia and bagged three ducks. He put them in the bed of his pickup truck and was about to drive home where he was confronted by an ornery game warden who didn't like hillbillies. The game warden ordered to the hillbilly to show his hunting license, and the hillbilly pulled out a valid West Virginia hunting license. The game warden looked at the license, then reachd over and picked up one of the ducks, sniffed it's butt, and said, "This duck ain't from West Virginia. This is a Kentucky duck. You got a Kentucky hunting license, boy?" The hillbilly reached into his wallet and produced a Kentucky hunting lcense.
The game warden looked at it, then reached over and grabbed the second duck, sniffed it's butt, and said, "This ain't no Kentucky duck. This duck's from Tennessee. You got an Tennessee licence?" The hillbilly reached into his wallet and produced an Tennessee license. The warden then reached over and picked up the third duck. "This duck's from Virginia. You got a Virginia hunting license?"
Again the hillbilly reached into his wallet and brought out a Virginia hunting license. The game warden was extremely frustrated at this point, and he yelled at the hillbilly, "Just where the hell are you from?"
The hillbilly turned around, bent over, dropped his pants, and said, "You tell me, you're the expert!" đ

this happened in Montana. I'm on my way to go to my interview this morning when I get pulled over. By a Montana officer. I am native American and my friend that was with me is black. Just saying. Both brake lights decided to go out this time. As he walked to the car and I was pulling out my stuff, he quickly said, "Don't worry about pulling anything out. I just want you to know that your brake lights are out." So I'm immediately upset, because I just got them replaced like last month. So I explained to him how Firestone wants to charge me $600 just to run a test on the wiring of the car. He looked at me like đ¨ and told me to pop the trunk. He checked the lights in the trunk and tapped them, but they didn't come on. So he told me to pop the hood to check the relay box then asked me to get out to check the other one. Then worked on the wiring under the dash. He could've easily given me a ticket, but Officer Jenkins stepped out of officer role, and into mechanic role, and human role. to make sure I was straight. By the way HE FIXED THEM. Not everyone is racist, or a bad cop.

Agatha Christie's life took a dramatic turn in 1926. At the age of thirty-five, she was plunged into despair by the loss of her mother and the betrayal of her husband, Archie, who left her for another woman. This double blow sent her spiraling into a deep depression, leaving her feeling utterly lost and disillusioned. The only solace she found was in the love of her seven-year-old daughter, Rosalind.
Born into wealth and privilege in 1890, Agatha had shown a remarkable talent for writing from a young age. She married Archie Christie, a dashing pilot, in 1914. Together, they weathered the storms of World War I and welcomed their daughter in 1919. By the time her marriage began to unravel, Agatha had already established herself as a successful author with five acclaimed detective novels.
As she slowly emerged from the shadows of her failed marriage, Agatha turned to writing as a source of comfort and escape. A journey on the Orient Express offered a brief respite, but it was an archaeological dig in Iraq in 1930 that truly transformed her life. There, she met Max Mallowan, a younger archaeologist, and their love story blossomed. They married later that year and embarked on a lifelong partnership filled with love, adventure, and intellectual companionship.
The year 1926, a year of immense pain and uncertainty, marked a turning point in Agatha Christie's life. In the decades that followed, she would go on to become one of history's most celebrated authors, penning over 70 best-selling novels and creating the longest-running play ever staged. Her second marriage brought her happiness, and both she and Max received prestigious honors: Max was knighted in 1968, and Agatha was made a Dame of the British Empire in 1971.
Agatha Christie passed away on January 12, 1976, at the age of 85. With over two billion copies of her books sold worldwide, she remains the best-selling novelist of all time. Her enduring legacy is a testament to her resilience, her extraordinary talent, and her ability to turn adversity into triumph.

A PLANE IS ON ITS WAY TO TORONTO , WHEN A BLONDE IN ECONOMY CLASS GETS UP AND MOVES TO THE FIRST CLASS SECTION AND SITS DOWN.
THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT WATCHES HER DO THIS AND ASKS TO SEE HER TICKET.
SHE THEN TELLS THE BLONDE THAT SHE PAID FOR ECONOMY CLASS AND THAT SHE WILL HAVE TO SIT IN THE BACK.
THE BLONDE REPLIES, "I'M BLONDE, I'M BEAUTIFUL, I'M GOING TO TORONTO AND I'M STAYING RIGHT HERE."
THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT GOES INTO THE COCKPIT AND TELLS THE PILOT AND THE CO-PILOT THAT THERE IS A BLONDE BIMBO SITTING IN FIRST CLASS, THAT BELONGS IN ECONOMY AND WON'T MOVE BACK TO HER SEAT.
THE CO-PILOT GOES BACK TO THE BLONDE AND TRIES TO EXPLAIN THAT BECAUSE SHE ONLY PAID FOR ECONOMY SHE WILL HAVE TO LEAVE AND RETURN TO HER SEAT.
THE BLONDE REPLIES, "I'M BLONDE, I'M BEAUTIFUL, I'M GOING TO TORONTO AND I'M STAYING RIGHT HERE."
THE CO-PILOT TELLS THE PILOT THAT HE PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE THE POLICE WAITING WHEN THEY LAND TO ARREST THIS BLONDE WOMAN WHO WON'T LISTEN TO REASON.
THE PILOT SAYS, "YOU SAY SHE IS A BLONDE? I'LL
HANDLE THIS, I'M MARRIED TO A BLONDE. I SPEAK BLONDE."
HE GOES BACK TO THE BLONDE AND WHISPERS IN HER EAR, AND SHE SAYS, "OH, I'M SORRY." AND GETS UP AND GOES BACK TO HER SEAT IN ECONOMY.
THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT AND CO-PILOT ARE AMAZED AND ASKED HIM WHAT HE SAID TO MAKE HER MOVE WITHOUT ANY FUSS.
"I TOLD HER, 'FIRST CLASS ISN'T GOING TO TORONTO."

At one point during a game, the coach called one of his 9-year-old baseball players aside.
And asked, "Do you understand what cooperation is? What a team is?
"Yes, coach", replied the little boy. "
Do you understand that what matters is whether we win or lose together as a team?"
The little boy nodded in the affirmative.
"So," the coach continued, "I'm sure you know, when an out is called, you shouldn't argue,
curse the umpire, or call him an ass***. Do you understand all that?"
Again, the little boy nodded in the affirmative.
The coach continued, "And when I take you out of the game so that another boy gets a chance to play,
it's not a dumb-a** decision or that the coach is a s**t**** is it?"
"No, coach."
"Good", said the coach. "Now go over there and explain all that to your grandmother.â

Barbara Harmer left school at the age of 15 without any qualification to work as a hairdresser.
After five years of doing people's hair, she applied to become a trainee air traffic controller at London Gatwick Airport.
While working at Gatwick, she also decided to study for her A levels with the aim of studying law.
For this reason , her A levels subjects were Geography, English Law, Constitutional Law.
But she later changed her mind , and started taking flying lessons after obtaining a ÂŁ10,000 bank loan.
After obtaining her private pilot licence, she embarked on a 2 year distance learning course for her commercial pilot licence which she secured in 1982.
Even after obtaining it , her tenacity to succeed was put to a stern test once again, when she was rejected by potential employers. Her 100 applications for a pilot job were all rejected.
In 1984, after two years of tarmacking, she got her first pilot job in a small commuter airline, and within that same year lady luck came calling when she joined British Caledonian Airlines.
Things became even more better for her three years later in 1987, when British Caledonian Airlines merged with British Airways.
She kept on soaring and after four years flying British Airways' DC-10 plane , she was selected to train as concorde pilot, becoming the first woman qualified to fly the supersonic plane.
By the time Concorde was withdrawn from service in October 2003, Harmer had served 10 years as a pilot flying regular scheduled services.
After concorde she converted to flying Boeing 777 Jumbo jet, until 2009 when retired voluntarily to pursue other things. Her aim was to sail in her yacht across the atlantic in 2013, something she had started preparing for.
But unknown to her, she had developed ovarian cancer which was slowly eating her life away. By the time it was diagnosed, she only had slightly more than a year live.
Captain Harmer, who never had children, died in 2011 at the age of 57 leaving behind her husband of 27 years. Her ashes were flown high and scattered over the sea near her home.
She started low in life, climbed and soared. Her legacy is an inspiration to women and to youngsters everywhere. Through her pragmatic, can-do attitude, she achieved success in a male-dominated industry.

JK Rowling // "Fatâ is usually the first insult a girl throws at another girl when she wants to hurt her.âŁ
âŁ
I mean, is âfatâ really the worst thing a human being can be? Is âfatâ worse than âvindictiveâ, âjealousâ, âshallowâ, âvainâ, âboringâ or âcruelâ? Not to me; but then, you might retort, what do I know about the pressure to be skinny? Iâm not in the business of being judged on my looks, what with being a writer and earning my living by using my brainâŚâŁ
âŁ
I went to the British Book Awards that evening. After the award ceremony, I bumped into a woman I hadnât seen for nearly three years. The first thing she said to me? âYouâve lost a lot of weight since the last time I saw you!ââŁ
âŁ
âWell,â I said, slightly nonplussed, âthe last time you saw me Iâd just had a baby.ââŁ
âŁ
What I felt like saying was, âIâve produced my third child and my sixth novel since I last saw you. Arenât either of those things more important, more interesting, than my size?â But no â my waist looked smaller! Forget the kid and the book: finally, something to celebrate!âŁ
âŁ
Iâve got two daughters who will have to make their way in this skinny-obsessed world, and it worries me because I donât want them to be empty-headed, self-obsessed, emaciated clones; Iâd rather they were independent, interesting, idealistic, kind, opinionated, original, funny â a thousand things, before âthinâ. And frankly, Iâd rather they didnât give a gust of stinking chihuahua flatulence whether the woman standing next to them has fleshier knees than they do. Let my girls be Hermiones, rather than Pansy Parkinsons."âŁ

Bob Marley once said:
"You may not be her first,
her last, or her only.
She loved before
she may love again.
But if she loves you now,
what else matters?
She's not perfectâyou aren't either,
and the two of you may never be perfect together
but if she can make you laugh,
cause you to think twice,
and admit to being human and making mistakes,
hold onto her and give her the most you can.
She may not be thinking about you every second of the day,
but she will give you a part of her
that she knows you can breakâher heart.
So don't hurt her,
don't change her,
don't analyze and
don't expect more than she can give.
Smile when she makes you happy,
let her know when she makes you mad,
and miss her when she's not there.
Love with your whole being when you receive love.
Because there are no perfect girls, but there will always be a girl who is perfect for you.." ⤠â¤

In 1970, one could visit McDonaldâs and enjoy a hamburger, French fries, and a shake for 89 cents. One needed another nickel if they wanted a cheeseburger. There were considerably fewer options on the chainâs menu, and entering the restaurant was required. Drive-thru windows werenât around yet for the most part, except at banks. A ticket to the movies was around $1.50, more or less. Minimum wage was $1.60. Gasoline was about 36 cents a gallon. It was pumped by a gas station attendant, who also washed the windshield, offered to check the oil, water, and tires, and often gave the purchaser gift stamps, complimentary drinking glasses, or other inducements.
Gift stamps were common throughout the United States. An early version of customer reward programs, stamps were collected until books were filled, which were then traded for various gift items. The largest gift stamp organization was S & H Green Stamps, though there were several regional competitors; Top Value, Gold Bell, Greenbax, and others. Customers received stamps in accordance with the amount of money spent. Gas stations, grocery stores, discount stores, and department stores all offered gift stamps along with their goods and services and in some larger towns and cities the stamp company had stores where the collected stamps could be redeemed for merchandise

This happened a couple of weeks ago, but wanted to share as it nearly brought me to tears. My faith in the goodness of humanity has been restored!
I had just dropped off my 2 kids to daycare and had a day planned with my eldest daughter. My car battery died, a couple of weeks earlier we had to replace my husbands alternator in his car plus a couple of other things which left us with barely anything. I called road side, they started my car and I drove to the closest battery shop.. the guy behind the desk showed me a bunch of options and said if money is tight, go with this one.. if money isnât an issue, go with this one etc. I had to go with the cheaper one and as we got talking, it came up that his wife worked in childcare, they had 4 kids and I also happened to work in childcare with 3 kids. When I went to pay, he said âI know how hard it is working in childcare while having your own children, you do an amazing jobâ he gave me $25 off the battery just because of a chance conversation. It might not seem much to some, but it was such a kind, genuine thing to do. â¤ď¸
