You look at your full calendar and think the problem is there isn't enough time.
The problem is you won't let the expired yes go.
The yes you gave years ago to a role, a person, a version of your life that doesn't fit anymore.
The grip of those expired yeses is what's tiring you.
That busy calendar is just a reflection of the grip it has on you.
I wrote about it in today's article.

Iâm in Vegas đđžđđž for Content Camp LIVE with THE content coach herself, and a room full of brilliant women ready to take their content to the next level. â¨

In 2020, I was overtraining, under-eating, & still gaining weight.
COVID hit. My body changed.
Then I went into full panic mode.
I thought the answer was more control.
I tried everything.
Keto. Fasting. Overdosing on âdiscipline.â
I even hired a high-performance coach hoping for better habits.
But I didnât need more habits.
I needed to stop performing worthiness.
One day, he asked me:
âBut what do you want?â
And I realized I didnât know.
That moment cracked something open.
I stopped starving myself physically & emotionally.
I picked two things that felt good.
No punishing plan.
I stuck with them & released 33lbs. But what I gained was so much more.
As a fitness coach, I started helping other high-achieving
Black women lose weight.
But I could feel it:
What they really needed wasnât a meal plan.
It was âpermissionâ to come home to themselves.
Thatâs when I became a life coach. A guide.
And Embody was born.
Itâs not just about weight.
Itâs about freedom.
From the roles, rules, & pretending.
and finally choosing you.
When I was a fitness coach, I thought losing 20 pounds would fix her until it didnât.
She came saying she wanted to lose 20 pounds.
But behind that number, something else was at play: she was burnt out, disconnected, exhausted in a way sleep couldnât fix.
On the outside, she was high-functioning: leading meetings, hitting deadlines, everyone commending her âdiscipline.â
Inside, she was unraveling quietly. She said, âI donât recognize myself anymore.
Iâve checked every box, but I feel invisible in my own life.â
Instead of handing her another diet plan, I helped her unlearn the habits that were suffocating her:
đ Skipping lunch because she had back-to-back calls, & surviving on the vending machine snacks by 4 p.m.
đ Cardio at 5 a.m. even when her body was begging for rest.
đ Treating rest like a reward to be earned & food like a punishment.
We slowed everything down so she could hear
herself again: sipping on her coffee without the
phone at 7 a.m., giving herself permission to just breathe.
She started moving with her body, not against it.
The real shift happened when she looked in the
mirror and said, âfinally, I get to feel good now &
not after I lose the weight.â
That moment changed everything: from
controlling her body to coming home to it.
Yes, she lost the 20 pounds.
But what really transformed her life was what she gained:
Sleeping through the night again with less 3a.m. anxiety about.
Finding her voice in convos she used to
shrink from & speaking up without apologizing.
Stopped skipping meals because she was âtoo
busyâ caring for everyone else.
Learning to say no without a dissertation
explanation and the biggest shocker of all,
refusing to shrink herself for others.
Going from disappearing in her own life to takingâŚ
up space on purpose, unapologetically.
After our time together, she said, âI thought I wanted weight loss.
What I really needed was to feel like me again.â

You donât speak up because you donât want to âhurtâ him.
Programmed by society to cater to others, men..
You smooth things over.
Pick your battles.
tell yourself itâs not that deep.
You have a Ph.D on keeping the peace even when it costs you what you desire, your truth.
conditioned to shrink to make everyone else feel okay.
But now that the kiddos are off doing their thing..
now that thereâs no carpool, no college apps, no distractionsâŚ
Now that youâre 20+ years into the relationship you thought would âcompleteâ youâŚ
The silence is starting to feel like self-abandonment.
The version of you who never asked for too much..
is exhausted.
So, let this be your reminder:
Youâre not doing or wanting too much.
Youâre over it, done disappearing.
This is the work we do in Embody.
No more tiptoeing around roommate style situationships.
No more fake smiles on IG or âus against the worldâ reels on TikTok.
Youâre in your 40s. 50s.
Itâs not about appearances anymore.
Itâs about peace. Your peace.
Itâs about you.. fully seen, fully expressed, and finally, fully free.
Comment âENOUGHâ if youâre ready.

Start heređđžâŚ
It looks like smiling at brunch when youâd rather be alone in your thoughts, silence.
It looks like answering âIâm goodâ before you even check in with yourself.
It looks like showing up to lead the team while secretly resenting every meeting.
It looks like praise that feels disingenuous.
Partnership that feels distant.
A full calendar, but an empty feeling you canât explain.
Itâs coming home to a beautiful apartmentâŚ
and sitting in the car a little longer because youâre too numb to move.
Itâs you knowing how to look successful
but not remembering the
last time you felt alive inside the life you built.

Some years ago, when I met my goal weight.
had four degrees.
Was given a âtitleâ.
Had stuff many people assume would make you feel good about yourself.
And it did.. for a little while.
Then one morning I was out running
the air was sharp, my playlist was on,
and I remember thinking,
why do I still feel so far from myself?
I was doing everything right.
But I still felt like I was performing my own life.
And I see it now in so many high-achieving women.
Youâve trained your body to hide the truth.
Clenched jaw. Chest tight.
Holding your breath through the day like itâs normal.
But itâs not.
Youâve just been doing it so long, you stopped noticing.
And what you want isnât rest.
You want to feel relief.
To finally feel like your life fits.
To breathe and not brace.
To stop proving your value just by being everything for everyone.
To have energy and clarity to actually walk away from what and who has been draining you.
I opened 5 private, invite-only spots for women who are done performing and ready to come back to themselves.

Unpopular Opinion:
âReliableâ is the praise you get for never having needs.
Youâre not seen as dependable.
Youâre just the one who never complains.
Who never asks for help.
Who always shows up no matter how empty you are inside.
They love you because you make their lives easier.
Not because they actually know you.
Youâve been performing peace,
managing everyoneâs chaos,
and calling it purpose.
But deep down, you know what it really is..
They donât respect you.
They expect you.
And every time you silence your needs to keep the peace
you disappear a little more.
And thatâs definitely not the success formula.
Thatâs a slow, quiet self-abandonment dressed up as excellence.
