As expected, India beat Pakistan by a massive margin of 64 runs in their opening match of the Women's T20 World Cup 2026.

Yes, we do not have a WIPL. Yes, our players do not participate in international franchise leagues and they are not paid at the same level. But these players have been in the system for years, have played plenty of international cricket, attended numerous camps and worked under professional coaches.

Nobody expected Pakistan to defeat a strong Indian side, but the team should have shown at least some fight, some intent and a clear method.

This performance simply cannot be defended. The gap between Pakistan and India in both men's and women's cricket has become alarmingly large, and performances like this continue to highlight that reality.
