Some of the most meaningful growth happens when dancers feel safe enough to explore, take risks, and simply be themselves.

That’s the kind of room I strive to create.

A space where technique is challenged, artistry is celebrated, and every dancer feels seen.

The kind of room where growth feels like freedom. 🧡

Sometimes growth means making the hard choice.🧡

This summer, my niece- a Dynamix Works Ambassador and WDP Trainee- chose to step away from nationals and invest in her training at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago’s Summer Intensive.

Was it easy? No. But was it right for her growth? 1000%.

Choosing a new environment, learning from new voices, and prioritizing becoming a stronger, more versatile artist takes maturity. As her aunties and mentors who have trained her, poured into her, and walked alongside her- we’re incredibly proud and stand behind this decision completely.

As an artist who has built and continues to build an entire career in dance, I know firsthand that growth requires stepping beyond what is familiar. I’ve lived it, I still live it, and it’s the example I will always lead with.

If you want to take your training seriously and go all the way in this art form, you have to be willing to step into different rooms, experience different teaching styles and movement languages, and be challenged in new ways.

That doesn’t diminish the work being done at your home studio. It builds upon it. The strongest training environments and mentors understand that growth isn’t about keeping dancers in one room. It’s about preparing them to walk confidently into many.✨

The best mentors don’t fear outside training- they help guide dancers toward it. Encouraging dancers to be stretched, challenged, and exposed to something new is part of shaping the whole artist.

As mentors, teachers, and studio owners, we should applaud dancers brave enough to seek that growth.

Because for us, mentorship has never been about keeping dancers close. It’s about helping them become ready for every room they’re working toward.

Proud of you for choosing growth. Proud of you for choosing yourself. We love you. Now go be great.🧡✨

There is no one way to experience an intensive.

For some, it’s the training.
For others, it’s the growth.
For many, it’s the friendships, memories, and moments made along the way.

The best part of any intensive isn’t just what happens in the studio~ it’s hearing how each dancer experiences it.

And that’s what makes this community so special.🧡

✨What word would you use to describe a dance experience that has impacted you?

I’ll always be the one to say, get in the class ✨

My girl was behind the camera and training at the same time. She spent the week capturing content for Dynamix, but I made sure she stepped into class too.

If you’re in the room, take advantage of the opportunity.

Entering her junior year at George Mason 🤍
