Congratulations to ORBIT CC for winning the Akash Medical Care T-30 Tournament 2026, and Brooklyn Lycans for being the Runners Up. Orbit battled to a long yet steady victory after a game that went into 58 overs, as fans at Kissena 2 witnessed an interesting encounter last Saturday.

For the first time, none of the top 3-ranked teams made it to a BCANA T30 Final, as Orbit's resurgence in the format continued in grand fashion to seal the most important game of the tournament. Top-order batsman Raihan Anas, who was also the leading wicket-taker and the Player to Watch for the Final, made his mark with the bat, accompanied by a crucial all-round performance from Md Shaheen, to chase down a tricky total and hand Orbit the title after a long nine years.

After winning the toss and deciding to bat first on a sluggish wicket, Lycans skipper Zakir hoped the pressure of runs on the board would be vital to the outcome of the game. Orbit captain Akhter reckoned it was a good toss to lose, given the condition of the outfield and their track record in chasing, winning five on the trot before coming to the final. The Lycans were rocked early by losing both of their openers inside the first 7 balls of the innings - with Nayem retiring hurt to an injury, and the explosive Alvi 1(3) getting caught out to a beautiful delivery by Tanim, who kept the Lycans batsmen quiet in the middle. As expected, Orbit spinners bowled in tandem to keep a tight leash on the runs. Jarif 50(68) kept his composure once again to anchor the Lycans innings, before Rasal's 39(17) gave the team the impetus needed to finish with the fighting total of 159/6 after 30 overs. Tanim led the bowling with a brilliant spell of 2-16 from his 6 overs, and Shaheen picked up 2-26 that included the key wickets of Jarif and Rasal.

In response, the Orbit openers made cautious start to a manageable chase. In-form batsman Tanvir 14(21) was the first wicket to fall with the team total on 20, and Shaheen got a reprieve within the next few balls when he was on 4(7) to initiate a partnership that would haunt the opposition for the remainder of the match. While Shaheen fought through cramps on one end, Anas was batting on a different pitch, displaying his wonderful stroke-making abilities. The pair capitalized on the dropped chances fully, much to the dismay of the fielders, to weave a huge partnership (119) and take control of the game as the required run rate never slipped out of hand. Anas struck boundaries at ease to cruise to a match-winning half-century 85(67) while Shaheen held fort with a fighting 42(67). The big partnership at the top meant Orbit batsmen were never in bother to get over the line when Jakir Jr. 13*[8] struck two sixes towards the end to wrap things up with 13 balls left. Rasal was the pick of the bowlers.

In the post-match presentation ceremony, Raihan Anas of Orbit CC was named the Man of the Final for his superb batting display. Pinak Ghosh of Team Lycans was named the Best Batsman, as well as the Most Valuable Player this season for his outstanding batting performance throughout the tournament, piling up 591 runs. Orbit's Anas was also awarded the season's Best Bowler for his 19 wickets. Tamim Ahmed from NY Aces took away the Best Fielder award for making 12 dismissals. The Champions Orbit CC won a prize of USD 5,000 (sponsored by Dr. Akash Ferdaus and Akash Medical Care), while the Runners Up Brooklyn Lycans were rewarded with USD 2,500 (sponsored by BACDYS). The officiating umpires for the Final were Adnan and Krishna. Lenny and Matt covered the live commentary.

Dominating with both bat and ball, this heavy all-rounder has been the driving force behind the Lycans’ tournament run. Sitting second in the overall player rankings, he has repeatedly stepped up in clutch moments to haul his side out of danger. The opposition would need to neutralize him should they break through the Lycans lineup.

ORBIT CC makes a triumphant return to the T30 final for the first time in nine years, securing their spot after a thrilling semifinal victory over table-toppers NY Riders. Riding high on confidence after back-to-back knockout nail-biters, the legendary squad will look to lean on their deep well of experience to finish the job.

They face Brooklyn Lycans, who capped off an impressive bounce-back season—going from missing last year's playoffs straight to the title match. To get here, they had to win the high-stakes Lycans derby semifinal against tournament favorites Team Lycans. Expect them to bring that fire and momentum as they battle for another shot at glory.
