Why us? At a PCH meetup there’s no line between “volunteer” and “athlete.” Everyone climbs. Everyone belays. Show up planning to help out and you’ll blink and find you’re a climber too — disabled and non-disabled, trading roles by the day, equals on the same rope instead of a service exchange. Disability-led, all the way down.

🧗 Happy Wednesday Climbing Community! We’re kicking off the week with some big news: ParaCliffHangers is now climbing in DeLand, FL! 🌴 Our newest chapter kicks off at DynoClimb, meeting the last Saturday of every month, 2–6pm starting August 29th! Whether you’re a seasoned climber or trying it for the first time, this space is for you. We’ve got adaptive gear, an incredible community, and a whole lot of send-it energy waiting for you!

Your favorite fall PCH trips are coming back 🧗🏕️

First up we’ve got , NY: September 18-20, join us for the camping (thank you Rock And Snow and Shawangunk Gateway Campground | AAC & MP for making this possible!) or just for a daytrip on the 19th or 20th, whatever floats your boat!

This trip features certified guides, adaptive equipment, accessible lodging and crag access arranged in advance. This we’re giving a huge shoutout to Theo, one of our incredible climbers from Queens, NY! 🎉🧗‍♀️ For his bar mitzvah service project, Theo chose to raise funds for ParaCliffHangers and blew us away by raising over $3,000 for our community! How amazing! That kind of generosity helps us keep adaptive climbing accessible for climbers everywhere. Thank you, Theo, for choosing us; we are so incredibly honored to have you as part of our PCH family. 💜

Our VI Calling Clinic at Mesa Rim was a huge success! 🧗‍♀️ Led by our Executive Director Emeline Lakrout and Fuzzy P***k (Chapter Lead for PCH Austin) the crew learned sharper sensory cues and belay communication, then put it all to the test with a group of VI climbers from the National Federation of the Blind NationalFederationOfTheBlind Turns out the blind leading the blind can be super effective!💜

At PCH, we’re proud to be a climbing community run by and for disabled people. 🧗Our Executive Director and co-founders are disabled, over half of our chapter leads are disabled, and so is a majority of our board. We love our allies too, and know how special it is for many of you to either climb with us or bring along partners, friends, and family 💜

The world is not an accessible place. We won’t pretend that it is. But at our meetups, there’s nothing about us without us.

Katy, TX: We showed UP. 🤘🧗Over 50 ParaCliffHangers traveled from across the country to compete at the 2026 USA Climbing Para Climbing National Championships at Momentum Climbing Texas earlier this year, and we couldn’t be prouder of every single one of them. Climbing wasn’t the only highlight: Sporting our new shirts and getting our crew together for a team dinner was a reminder of what PCH is really about: community, connection, and the people who make this sport worth showing up for. 🍽️❤️

With on the horizon, the future of paraclimbing has never looked brighter, and we’re so grateful to be a part of it. See you on the wall. 🌟
