Apparently I'm making memories I won't remember: Good thing my body is keeping receipts.

This week's newsletter is about camp drop-offs, questionable childhood memories, why my daughter insists we never discussed our six-hour drive to NYC (we absolutely did 😅), and what all of that has to do with the way our bodies hold onto old injuries, pregnancies, and life experiences.

Link in bio. ❤️

I've officially named my 44-year-old alter ego...

Janet.

So from now on, if I say or do something completely unhinged...it wasn't me. It was Janet.

Janet gets irrationally angry because my husband wore his shirt inside out...Again.

Janet thinks waking up soaked in sweat at 3 a.m. is now an Olympic event.

Janet deadlifts heavy... then has to ask someone else to open the bag of chips.

Janet walks into a room with a purpose...and immediately forgets what it was.

Janet has absolutely no patience for people who stand in the middle of the grocery store aisle.

Janet mutters, "I don't have the bandwidth for this," at least six times a day.

Honestly...She's exhausting.

But here's the thing...I'm done apologizing for Janet. Because she's not losing it. She's tired of pretending she's 25. She's learning a body with new rules. She has less patience for nonsense...

..and a whole lot more respect for herself.

The hot flashes can go. The random rage can take a hike. But the part of Janet that stopped worrying about everyone else's opinion?

Yeah...

I think she's here to stay.

Anyone else

Collecting movement, not just workouts.

One of the reasons I encourage clients to explore different styles of movement is because I do it too. (And sometimes I'm lucky enough to do it with them! MAHJ with Marissa )

Strength training.
Bootcamp.
Pilates.
Yoga.
Dance.

Every movement practice offers a different perspective. Every great instructor has something to teach. The more ways we move, the more we learn about our bodies.

That's body literacy.

And that's what keeps movement interesting for a lifetime.

Thank you, Emily Diers , for sharing your passion for bodycraft | movement studio . I left inspired... and very, very sweaty. 😅

The internet loves to tell you the "best exercises" for pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, and menopause.

Here's the problem...

Those lists assume every woman in that stage of life has the same body.

They don't.

Your life stage matters. But your body's current needs matter even more.

The "best" exercise is the one your body needs today.

That's body literacy.

And that's where confidence begins.
