That’s a wrap! It’s been real, it’s been fun, and honestly from time to time it’s been real fun…

I think most people share this type of photo the other way around, when they get the keys to a space and the process of building a dream begins. Now we are officially moved out of this box that we called our bike shop for the last 5 years. Though this is the closing of a chapter and the emotions are varied, we feel overwhelmingly positive and really proud of the magic Dashing Bicycles has made over the 13 years we’ve been around.

Over the last month or so y’all REALLY showed up and showed us the love, and we felt somehow the same momentum that we did when we first opened in this location, the thrill of connecting people with bikes, selling you maybe the helmet or new bike bag you’d been eyeing, and even chatting with other bike shop folks as we started selling off our shop supplies, parts and tools.

Thank you Marin Stephens for banking on a dream, building the business and for sharing the opportunity, thank you to all the Dashing staff that have helped make this place everything it’s been over the years, and thank you to all the lovely faces who have come in and out of our doors & trusted us with your bikes! We’ll see you on the bike path!

The long version: First and foremost, thank you all for an amazing 13 years. We’re so lucky to have been able to serve the New Orleans cycling community from several different locations and shop incarnations over the years. While we write this with heavy hearts but also our eyes on the horizon, we know we leave you in the capable hands of the other wonderful bike shops around the New Orleans area. Thanks to the amazing team of mechanics who have made Dashing what it’s been over the years - we couldn’t have done it without you! We’ll be open at Sophie Wright Pl. for about 2 more months, with an official closing date to come by the end of July. Keep an eye out for closeout deals on literally everything over the next couple months & don’t be a stranger!

Join us next Wednesday, 4/8 from 5:30-7pm! 🛠🌿 Come by the garden at 600 Charbonnet St. to learn or brush up on your basic bike maintenance skills with us. This event is geared towards participants ages 16+ and will cover flat fixes, basic use of simple tools, and quick bike adjustments that can be made on the go or from home
