In the era of wikiFeet, I realize this post may be obscene. Apologies. But surgery can sure make you obsess over body parts! I’m exploring my new left foot & how it works. Still experimenting with putting weight on my toes, taking it slow, rocking PT, managing swelling. Wearing different shoes. Grateful as all getout. ☺️🦶❤️

I’m working on my adolescent certification in Trauma Sensitive Yoga & today I was so inspired by a presentation from the founders of Live Well Rwanda . They’re using Trauma Sensitive Yoga to build resilience & strengthen communities of young people in Rwanda. Thank you for your work!! I learned so much from you. ❤️

This is an “intensive” format, with 8 sessions in 2 weeks. The frequency can jumpstart new neural pathways that govern how you relate to your body. Summer fruit for your body & mind! 🫐

These can be signs of disconnect. Our traumas (big T & little t) can separate us from ourselves. A 2 week reset could bring you home to your precious, strong body, the seat of your mind.

I’m facilitating Restorative Yoga tomorrow for the 1st time after foot surgery! 🦶 SUPER excited to focus on rest.
In Restorative Yoga, you practice intentionally moving your body into a down regulated state. With repeated practice, you can access the parasympathetic throughout the day, when you need to. 🙏🏻🧘🏾 It’s a pretty amazing skill.

Week 3 after surgery, & I just graduated to putting 2 feet on the ground! 🦶🏻🦶🏻 Looks like things are moving along nicely. Today the doctor said “your foot is perfectly aligned.” Music to my ears! 🎶 Now 2 weeks in the boot + a crutch 🩼 . I can do this. 💪🏻
