What a day! 11 Personal Bests, 4 all-time NM top 15 performances, a new NM team best average for Garret Mt. Oh wait they also took home a Team Title!

The day started with Freshman Menzi Malunga setting a new school record for the 2 mile course crushing the old mark by over a minute.

The Varsity Boys squad bested more than 19 other teams to take home the trophy. In the process Sawyer Hotto, Leandro Paulino, Julien Gutierrez, Evan Kozlowski, Jacob Chacko, David Dibra and Maximus Espinal combined to lower the schools combined team time for the hilly Garret course.

Way to go everyone!!!!!!

Both the Girls and Boys Cross Country teams opened their NJIC season 3-1 yesterday at Garret Mt. Despite the poor course conditions, thanks to the heavy rains, Soph. Ana Luna joined NM's all-time top 15 list running 23:33. This was Ana's first time racing at Garret.

Not to be outdone, the boys narrowly missed setting a new 5-man team average for Garret Mt. course. Jr. Sawyer Hotto led the way with a 1st place finish against Park Ridge, Pompton Lakes, Eastern Christian and Hasbrouck Heights.

The Cross Country team opened their season at Darlington and came away with 8 individual medals.

Freshman Menzi Malunga started the day with a Gold Medal performance outrunning his competition and posting the best freshmen time of the day.

Sophomore Ana Luna made her Cross Country debut for the girls and came away with a 21st place.

The Varsity boys trio of Sawyer Hotto (7), Leandro Paulino (8) and Evan Kozlowski (11) all ran personal bests to finish in the top 11.
