Just arrived, the brand new highly anticipated Hardy Tactus fly rods designed by world champion Howard Croston for Euro nymphing & technical dry fly fishing. They also make great wet fly rods. The Tactus feels lighter in hand and has a noticeably crisper recovery. The nymphing rods include a 10' 8" #0/2, 10' 2" #2, 11' 2" #2, and 10' 8" #3. They have a powerful butt section for fighting bigger fish, and a forgiving tip to cushion lighter tippets. They also include two tips. One is a standard tubular/hollow for a traditional feel, heavier rigs, and more power. The other is a nano carbon solid tip for lighter work with micro leaders, light flies, and better bite detection. The dry fly rods are either 9' 2" or 9' 9", both lengths offered in #3 and #4, and they come with one tubular tip section only. They are designed for light lines, long leaders, and Spanish style dry fly fishing which includes slack line casts and folded leaders. The 9' 2" rods have a lower swing weight and are slightly better for accuracy, while the 9' 9" models give you extra reach and better mending capabilities. While optimised for dry fly fishing, the 9' 9" #3 could also function as a crossover dry fly & nymph rod, as well as being great for wet flies.
