Here at Face Up Training, we celebrate the "little" wins just as hard as the "big" wins. Why? Because a win is a win and quite honestly, it's silly to put any kind of measurement on them. When a horse accomplishes a task that they have struggled with, it doesn't matter how "big" or "small" that task is--the horse overcame their struggles and accomplished it.

Benny has struggled to pick up his feet for a very long time. Even reaching for his front legs would cause him to panic. Add in a little fear of strangers and it's the perfect recipe for a bad time with the farrier. I have worked diligently with Benny to help him overcome his fear. Today, we put it to the test.

Other than one tiny jump scare when the rasp bumped him, Benny was perfect. Gold star, Benny 🌟

Never forget to celebrate the "small" wins. Small wins are the stepping stones that lead to big wins 💜🩵

Today was Emma's first session teaching Edgar to lead. Edgar is Emma's first mustang and she has done all of the hands-on work herself. The two of them have developed an amazing bond.

With Edgar haltered and starting to lead, we can now turn him out to the small attached paddock. Repeated torrential rains have waterlogged his gentling pen and we are excited to get him out of there!

Congratulations to Emma who was able to halter her mustang Edgar today!

Edgar has been a difficult case and a long journey, but Emma persevered and today she was able to get his halter on. He came without a tag around his neck, so this is his first step into true domestic life!
