2026 Casper Wyoming Summer Trip Report

Earlier this summer we had a group of New Braunfels Fly Fishers head north to explore the western fishery outside of Casper Wyoming on the North Platte River and the Wind River/ Bighorn River outside Thermopolis Wyoming. NBFF CLUB MEETING MUNITES JUNE 23, 2026 The LAP Process for the 2026 – 2027 season begins July 1st. During the month of July participants need to renew their membership with Trout Unlimited or join Trout Unlimited. The TU membership expiration date must extend past October 31, 2027, to be eligible for enrollment in the LAP Program. If you are joining TU for the first time you will need to renew your membership after joining in order for the expiration date to extend past October 31, 2027. ...

Club Picnic May 30, 2026 New Braunfels Fly Fishers celebrated the 2026 summer season with a family picnic. The picnic was held at the pavilion at River Rose. Approximately 35 club members and their families attended. Hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, chips, cookies, homemade brownies and watermelon were served. It was a traditional summer picnic. NEW BRAUNFELS FLY FISHERS FISH THE SAN MARCOS RIVER WITH FREEDOM ON THE FLY

The NBFF was invited by Sam Godfrey of Freedom on the Fly to visit their location on the San Marcos River on April 3rd to fish the river and/or the 3 acre stocked pond on the property. Eight members took advantage of the invitation with five fishing the river from kayaks, one wading the river and two fishing the pond. The day was topped off with a hotdog lunch provided by Freedom on the Fly with Sam at the griddle. Thanks to Gar Garcia for leading the group on the river.
