This week, we’re featuring Katie!

Katie is no stranger to the Two Rivers Half Marathon, having taken on the course several times over the years. While her heart may be happiest out on the trails, she’s also spent plenty of miles running alongside friends from Two Rivers Running community.

So when we asked past participants:
“If someone asked you, why should I run the Two Rivers Half Marathon or Ryan Bielke 5k?
What would you tell them?”

Katie shared one one of the things that keeps bringing her back:

💬“Two rivers half is one of my favorite races because river road is so peaceful and beautiful, it doesn't feel like you're running in town. Everyone is friendly and it just feels like a big family because even strangers are out there cheering for you.”

It’s more than a beautiful course along River Road. It’s the runners beside you, the volunteers supporting you and the people you’ve never met cheering like they’ve known you for years,

Gabby is a beast!!

“The race starts at Mile 70.”

RUNNING ON EMPTY, FINISHING ON TOP: New Braunfels resident Gabby De La Rosa wins the Habanero Hundred Gabby De La Rosa is an all-star in the New Braunfels running community. Some may refer to her as the MVR — Most Valuable Runner.

Congratulations to Gabby for this stupendous feat! She put in lots of miles and lots of hours to earn this. Words can’t express how proud of her we are. She’s not just a fantastic athlete - she’s also a fantastic person. Gabby, we are so happy to have you in our run family.

39 runners. 135 miles - Habanero Hundred.

Over 100 degrees and bluebird skies at the 6pm start - absolutely brutal.

Only 198 runners have completed the 100miler in 10 years. Will we see any finishers on the inaugural year of the 135?

This week’s Feature Friday comes from someone who has experienced this race from both sides of the course as a Half Marathon participant and as a volunteer.

He’s no stranger to cheering on his friends, encouraging other runners and quite possibly the unofficial hype man of race day! 📣

So when we asked: “If someone asked you why they should run the Two Rivers Half Marathon or Ryan Bielke 5K, what would you tell them?”

Here’s what Juan had to say:

“ Why should you run the Two Rivers Half Marathon or Ryan Bielke 5K?

It’s bigger than the race itself. It’s everything leading up to it.

If you’re from New Braunfels, you already know how beautiful this town is. So you know the course is absolutely selfie-worthy, but the real magic is the people. From packet pickup to the start line, every volunteer, every runner, and every finisher creates an atmosphere that feels more like a community than just another race. It’s an experience that reminds you why you started running in the first place.

Whether you run, jog, walk, or sprint, you’ll cross the finish line with a smile and probably one thought…
“I can’t wait to do this again next year.”
