Just a reminder to myself why I incorporate a deload week in my training… because I work pretty damn hard. 😮‍💨

Here’s part of my Day 1 upper body workout last week. Probably between a good 8.5-9 RPE for these lifts and I’m happy with them.

The bench I’m most happy about. I haven’t pushed over 150 # in a long, long time so the fact I was able to grind out 6. 🙌🏼

Yeah, I think I earned a break. 🖤

Can’t wait for the future lbs I’ll bench next. 😎

For now I’m going to spend this week resetting, reflecting, and resting. ✌🏼

(Btw this song was playing during my bench which was why my leg was bouncing. Something about jamming to a good song before a lift just does ya right. 🤘🏼)

✨ It’s a Stretchy Saturday for me ✨

I’m currently working on my front splits again. Once upon a time I could just drop right into them without even trying! But it’s true what they say, “you don’t use it, you lose it”. My goal is to train the splits at least 3x a week with adequate rest in between. 👌🏼

Should you learn to do these? You don’t have to, obviously, but there are cool benefits in doing so:

🔹 Improved Flexibility
🔹 Wider Range of Motion
🔹 Injury Prevention
🔹 Mind and Body Connection
🔹 Increased Strength

Just to name a few. 😉

Before you start, I recommend combining static stretches (10 seconds to 1 minute) and dynamic stretching (5-10 minutes mimicking the movement you’re about to practice to prepare the muscles). 🙆🏻‍♀️

Swipe left to see some of the stretches I do to help me prepare for the splits. ➡️

In the 1st picture, I’m using a foam block to provide some support and control as I gradually get deeper without straining or injuring my muscles. I’m getting close to the floor! 😁

Learning the splits is a slow process that involves patience and consistency. Take it from me. I may have to spend a couple more weeks or even months to be able to touch the floor completely and that’s okay! With a continuous practice and dedication, I’ll reach my goal. ❤️

And you don’t have to split in two to get all those neat benefits. Flexibility is important in all aspects of life, both in and out of the gym. That’s why I always program an appropriate flexibility/mobility routine tailored to my clients needs and goals so they can get the most out of their lifts as well as in their day-to-day activities. 🚶🏻‍♀️

Interested in learning the splits? Not sure what your exercise mobility routine should be? Or just want to learn more about the flexibility benefits I mentioned? Dm me for more info! 📥

Abs are revealed in the kitchen, but so are all the cool back muscles. So bubbly. 🫧

Pull-ups, deadlifts, and rows are hands down the best to build both which I love to do and do quite often. 💪🏼

To make the muscles pop (or bubble), it’s all about creating the right balance between training and nutrition that works best for you. 🍛
