Lake Effect Jiu Jitsu

Lake Effect Jiu Jitsu We are a Jiu-Jitsu gym based out of Negaunee, MI. We welcome all to come and train with us! We offer a kids programs for ages 4-6 and 7-13 years old.

We have classes Monday through Saturday. See schedule for class times. True Lake effect snowstorms only happen in a few locations in the US. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gyms such as ours really exist because of our location. We are pretty unique and certainly special. Whether your a seasoned vet or just starting on your BJJ journey, you are sure to find a special place with us as.

We are extremely stoked to welcome Hazel Butcher-Salazar to Lake Effect Jiu-Jitsu on Saturday, September 26th at 10:00 a.m.

Hazel is an accomplished Alliance Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black belt and one of the standout competitors in the sport.

Her incredible competition resume includes IBJJF World Championship gold in both the Heavyweight and Open Class divisions, along with an extraordinary 2026 season highlighted by seven Grand Slam gold medals.
