And finally for our summer recap series, we want to highlight where the summer season started:The Centennial Youth Ballet Summer Intensive! Between ballet, pointe, pas de deux, variations, flamenco, salsa, Horton Technique, line dancing, Aerial, Battleworks rep and more, the dancers had an amazing two weeks of dance, joy and passion. Thank you so much to this year’s INCREDIBLE guest faculty for sharing their expertise. A huge thank you to Friends of Metro Dance for their support and to Nashville School of the Arts for sharing their dance with us.

As we continue to look back on our summer at Metro Parks Dance Division, we wanted to take a moment to highlight some of the wonderful outside intensives that some of our Level 5 and 6 students in the Classical Ballet Program experienced this summer! ☀️ In order of photos: BalletMet, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Bates Dance Festival, and Pennsylvania Ballet (x2). Not pictured but also attended: Atlanta Ballet, Cincinati Ballet, and Collage Dance Collective. We’re excited to see all the amazing things you’ve learned as we start the Fall semester!

As summer wraps up it’s time to take a look back at our Junior Ballet Intensive with Katie Eliason Kropf, Daniella Parisot and Michelle Burlingame from June! On top of their daily ballet class, the week included ballet repertoire, conditioning, and tap, demonstrating everything they learned in a final showing for their families. ☀️🩰💖

As the summer comes to a close and the fall semester appears on the horizon, it’s time to take a look back at a joyous and dance-filled summer. Starting with a few of our summer study camps and workshops: Creative Dance Camps with a Peter & The Wolf theme 🐺🎶, Four Seasons Ballet Camp 🌷☀️🍁❄️, our Beginning Ballet Workshop 🩰, and our Creative Tap Camp 👞. Thank you to our amazing staff and faculty for putting this programming together and elevating the students’ passion for movement!

Our Beginning Ballet Workshop with Daniella Parisot starts next week 🩰. Have you registered yet? Thursday is the final day to sign up! Perfect for the young aspiring ballet dancer looking to sample a lengthier dance day in a supportive environment. The students participate in progressing ballet technique/strength and conditioning, a daily ballet technique class, and learn the history of ballet’s most famous stories and some of the steps along the way. There is still time to register for this year’s Junior Ballet Intensive! Come dance with this amazing line up of Metro Parks Dance Division full-time faculty AND guest instructor Michelle Burlingame. This intensive is a wonderful way for students to transition into a more rigorous training environment over the summer, work with guest faculty, and challenge themselves in a supportive and healthy environment. Students take ballet technique, repertoire, tap, and enrichment classes!
Eligibility requirements:
CURRENT STUDENTS: Appropriate for students enrolled in Ballet: Beg III, Int I (or equivalent) during the 2025/26 school year or as a first intensive for Intermediate Pre-Pointe students.
STUDENTS FROM OTHER SCHOOLS should have had the following classical ballet schedule during the 2025/26 school year:
Two, 60 minute classical ballet classes per week.
Two 90 minute classical ballet classes per week.
