Cross-training is an important aspect of any job. It helps us exercise different parts of our brain and flex our versatility muscles!
That's why when we recently had a lot of coffee to package at the farm, Mission Lazarus Director of Development, Chris Joslin, jumped right in.

Hey Carmen!
There are all kinds of hidden treasures on the coffee farm, like... bananas! Our team cuts the bunches down and waits to enjoy them until they're ripe.

Here's a behind-the-scenes look at one of the final steps before our coffee reaches a customer.
Coffee samples are professionally cupped at the processing plant to evaluate quality, consistency, and flavor. It's an important part of ensuring the coffee we've worked so hard to grow is represented at its very best.

Every burlap sack tells a story. It's so much more than 150 pounds of coffee. It's months of careful cultivation to produce a harvest that helps create dignified jobs, provides fair prices for neighboring farmers, and cultivates hope for families in the La Botija Mountains of southern Honduras.
Be part of this story when you purchase a bag at sanlazarocoffee.com. Every order keeps this hope alive for our farmers and their families. Thank you for being part of our work!

We believe that coffee can and should do more than just fill your cup.
At San Lazaro Coffee, every harvest helps provide dignified employment, creates opportunities for neighboring farmers to receive fair prices for their coffee, and opens the door to relationships that foster spiritual growth and lasting hope.
That's what makes this coffee special. Not just where it's grown, but the lives that are being transformed through the work.
Thank you for being part of our story. We are so grateful for each and every bag purchased!

Every morning at the coffee farm, we gather to share God's Word with one another, worship, and pray. It's always a special blessing when visitors join us for this sweet time.
Whether we understand one another's language or not, connections are inevitably made as smiles and hugs are shared. For us, it's a powerful representation of the beauty and diversity of the body of Christ.
Thank you to the group of women from Mayfair who came this summer to join us in our daily devotion!

Mario is an 18-year-old temporary employee on our coffee farm! Today, he balances work and school. During the coffee harvest, he works alongside our team on the farm, and on Saturdays he attends classes, continuing his education with several of his coworkers.

We are grateful for the groups who traveled this summer to serve alongside our team on the farm! We learned from them, and they learned from us.

If you’re part of our little corner of the coffee world, you’re part of the process too. We believe you deserve to know where your coffee comes from and how it’s made, which is why transparency matters so much to us.
At San Lázaro, we’re committed to caring for our people, our planet, and the craft behind every cup. That’s what guides our four P’s (People, Planet, Purpose, and Profit) each one equally important in how we do business.
It’s all about accountability. And more than anything, we hope it gives you the confidence to choose coffee that aligns with what matters most to you!
