Had a great time last night at Oracle Park for the Giants-Nationals game with my friend Shane Barclay of Extra Innings Travel! It was my second trip to San Francisco with the first being in 2017.

It’s amazing how many incredible highlights can be packed into just a few hours at the ballpark.
• Visited the Willie McCovey statue on the far side of the ballpark overlooking McCovey Cove
• BP passes that provided us an opportunity to see both teams warm up, take batting practice and meet some players
• Met 3x batting champ and Giants 2B Luis Arraez
• Ripped a pack of Topps with Giants rookie phenom Bryce Eldridge who then hit a mammoth HR in the 9th
• Met Jung Hoo Lee, Dylan Crews, James Wood and former Giant pitcher from my childhood and current broadcaster Mike Krukow
• Saw kids faces light up as they were given bp balls and met the players
• Saw 4 triples
• Visited the Tarps Off section in CF
• Sat 4th row beside Giants dugout
• Biggest highlight was spending seven hours at the park with Shane!

On this day 79 years ago Jackie Robinson stepped across the chalk line at Ebbets Field to make his Major League Debut. He would go on to not only change the game, but was a torchbearer in the civil rights movement.

Today there are only two Brooklyn Dodgers left who were teammates with Jackie - one is the great Sandy Koufax (90) and the other is Bob Aspromonte (87). I called Mr. Bob last night to talk about his memories and relationship with number 42. Within the first 10 minutes of their first encounter, Jackie gave him his glove. Here is that story. Enjoy.
