It was a privilege to speak with him and present one of our special jerseys from the West Point series, a small token of appreciation for everything he did behind the scenes to make those games happen.

We are grateful for the continued support, and for the doors he keeps opening for .

One day soon, we will see ice on The Plains..

Kind of funny how the universe works sometimes.

Flying home from the AHCA convention last week and I wind up sitting next to Scott, a pilot from Minnesota. Turns out he went to a "small" school he didn't think I'd heard of… 😉. And his son is seriously looking at to follow in his dad's footsteps.

Connection 1.

When a young lady took the seat between us, I glanced down and spotted an backpack tucked under the seat in front of her. Interesting… 🤔 Turns out she's an Auburn alum, flying back to attend a friend's graduation. We got to talking about Auburn, hockey, and what we're building on The Plains. I told her I'd love to send her off with an puck, but I'd handed out my last one at the ACHA convention. Turns out, she was headed to the same graduation I was that weekend.

Connection 2.

Fast forward two days, and there's an AUWICE puck in the hands of a soon-to-be grad on the floor of Neville Arena, plus a few more fans and supporters of championing the idea of bringing a sheet of ice to Auburn.

Funny how the world works sometimes.

Adding a dentist to the alumnae list and one of the original 10 players who paved the way for the program we have today!

Congrats , we are very excited to see you flourish and do great things in the world. Good luck at dental school in the fall...

..and we cannot wait for those sponsorship checks to start rolling in. Might be able to afford some ice cream sandwiches on every road trip now 🤔.

Didn't miss a shift.

Incredible time at the American Hockey Coaches Association annual convention this week! Saw some old friends, made some new ones, and learned a ton. It is great to see so many people dedicated to improving their profession and the quality of players we produce.

And after the conversations I had this week with some important folks in the college hockey world, I think we will see an ice rink on The Plains quicker than anyone could have imagined...👀

Lots of interest for girls all over the Chicago area. We will certainly see some of these athletes pulling on the AU very soon!

𝗜𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗲.

Huge thank you to the Columbus River Dragons, especially head coach Jerome Bechard and equipment manager Eric Souders, for letting us use their locker room this weekend! While they were on the road advancing in the FPHL playoffs (and winning), they still made it possible for us to host a first-class experience for our prospective players.

Their support for our program continues to show, from captain Josh Pietrantonio volunteering as a skills coach to current player Brodie Thornton serving as an assistant coach last season and again next year.

The hockey community in Columbus continues to support each other as we together!
