But a few days later, we're still thinking about it.

It can be hard to explain why any of us do this.

Whether you're racing, volunteering, crewing, or hitting the sidelines for the first time, you are the biggest reason we're here.

The fact is there's not much more real than moving through the woods all day, assisted by nothing but friends, family, and strangers. And the MAGIC of a community coming together to make it happen *for whatever reason* is something we can't seem to get enough of.

Whatever you're looking for out there this weekend, whatever your reason for being with us, thank you. You are what makes Twisted so special. We hope you walk away full.

Our five most seasoned finishers will all be back on the start line this year.

They've seen the course change, watched the race grow, and kept showing up year after year.

That's a lot of miles, dirt, early mornings, tough climbs, gnarly descents, long days, and a whole lot of finish line celebrations.

Twisted Branch 100k is proud to be the only Western States qualifying race in New York State.

Finish within the 20hr cutoff, and you'll earn a qualifying finish that makes you eligible to enter the Western States Entrance Run lottery. You'll also earn UTMB Index points.

Whether you're chasing your first qualifier or adding another year of lottery eligibility, we'd love to see you out on the course in August.

We're looking for volunteers to join us for race weekend! Whether helping at an aid station, assisting with parking, or cheering runners on, there's a place for you on the Twisted Branch team.

Volunteering is one of the best ways to experience race weekend. You'll meet great people, witness some incredible moments, and play a part in helping runners reach the finish line.

After months of planning, coordinating, re-routing, re-GPSing, and working with our incredible network of landowners and partners, we're excited to share that the 2026 course is finalized!

Our website has been updated with:

✔️ Aid station locations
✔️ Cutoff times
✔️ Updated course information

If you've ever wondered why finalizing the course takes time, here's a little behind-the-scenes secret:

**Twisted Branch isn't just a trail race. It's a carefully coordinated journey across public lands, private property, roads, and trails—made possible by the generosity of dozens of landowners and the dedication of countless volunteers and supporters.**

We're incredibly grateful to everyone who helps make this race possible year after year. It truly takes a community.
