Whatever your goals, we're gonna push you to reach them.

In this gym, your goals are everyone's goals and we won't let you fail.

Some hill sprints and endurance work with Kiah in preparation for her Hyrox competition in November.

I told them I sat this one out to record, but in reality I just needed a break 🤣

I was talking to one of the guys this morning during this workout. I was tired, beat up, sore, a little sick, and it straight up sucked. It was all over my face that I was suffering.

He asked why I was pushing so hard if I hated it so bad.

It's an easy answer, it's 9/11. It's not a holiday, there's no party, there is nothing happy about this day. It's one of the saddest days in American history.

Everyone needs to suffer a little bit this day, I'm glad I woke up feeling sick, it made the suffering that much worse.

The people that lost their lives, the children that lost their parents, husbands/wives who lost their spouses etc. they aren't celebrating today, they're suffering.

In my mind I'm blessed to not feel that pain on a day like today, I'm going to suffer with my fellow American- a different kind of pain but I'm going to feel it with them.

Because 25 years ago we all suffered together.

Never Forget.

Ace is a great athlete, he naturally moves well and isn't scared of hard work.

Even great athletes have flaws in their movements. It's my job to find them and fine tune them.

With Ace our biggest struggle has been how heavy his feet are, we've been working on making them lighter and more "springy."

We've been chipping away and I'm pretty impressed with the progress and his explosiveness.

This is a 48 inch box jump (4 feet) from a dead stop after exploding into the movement. Translation: it's really hard.

The best part of the whole movement is how light he is on his feet and how soft he lands, he has more in the tank and we're going to get it out of him.

This morning as we were getting ready to head to the gym, I saw Lo's shake on the table with his vitamins out- I felt proud. On the outside looking in it's not a big deal, to Dad (myself) it's discipline. It's teaching these kids a habit, not a fad, not temporary, not seasonal, a lifestyle to follow as they grow older and eventually leave the home.

Later in my morning routine I read my scripture for the day. "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." -Proverbs 22:6

As I read this I thought about all the times I've fought my kid over missing shakes, not wanting to lift, missing training sessions, missing prayers etc.

At the time I question myself- am I being too hard, do I expect too much structure - but here we are years later, it's became routine.

He knows a talk with God, a bottle of water, a protein shake and vitamins need to be taken before leaving the house, he knows that he lifts & runs first thing in the morning, he knows what time his practices are and when to be ready- gear packed.

I don't have to stand over him every second anymore- That’s the part that makes me proud. Because somewhere along the way, the things I had to constantly remind him to do started becoming things he reminds himself to do.

Parents, it’s our duty to train our kids to develop good habits. To teach them discipline, structure, responsibility, faith and the importance of taking care of their bodies.
Every one of us wants our kids to grow up and live long, healthy, happy lives.

One of the greatest things we can do for them is not just tell them how to live that way—but SHOW them, teach them and make those habits part of their everyday lives.

They’re going to fight you on it sometimes. They’re going to complain. You’re going to question whether you’re being too hard.

But one day, what you had to make them do will become what they choose to do. And hopefully, long after they leave our homes, those habits will still be with them.

We aren’t just raising kids. We’re building the adults they are become.

This week I’m breaking down the old-school, no BS way to weight loss—how to figure out exactly how much you need to eat, how many calories you need to burn each day, and how to put it all together to reach your goal.

It's science boys. Enjoy.

What’s up homies, hope everyone has had a great week. Its back-to-school season and to be honest it’s made me a little emotional. Seeing everyone’s back to school photos is just a reminder...
