I have spent my life learning, creating, and collecting: art, poetry, writing, modalities, books, ideas, practices, certifications...

More recently I've been looking for a place to share it all.

I found Substack.

Substack is a community full of writers, artists, thinkers, practitioners, and more sharing their work. Big and small.

I have a place there for my writing, my studies, my art with commentary, my somatic practices, and more.

I've also found many inspiring creators there, and there is truly something there for everyone.

On Substack, interacting with people's work really does make their day!

Meet you there | Journey to Self
Marker on Marker Paper 2021

In 2021 I was creating more than ever. I started to expand into digital mediums and I found that every new skill I found in one medium, started to expand my skill in all of the others.

At the time I was selling and collecting artwork on Hic Et Nunc or HEN. (Latin for Here and Now). With Tezos, where the processing fees were low enough, even small artists were able to collect each other's work.

We had community in a time when we desperately needed it. We would have dance parties in twitter threads to help posts get seen, we would have weekly poetry readings, we would jump on Spaces or Clubhouse or Discord and just talk.

I got to know artists from around the world. ❤️ 🌎
I'm so grateful for that experience... And I miss it ❤️‍🩹

So much has changed since then, and coming back to this piece, I do wonder what I meant... Meet you there | Journey to Self. 🥀

🎵You hear something long enough you start to believe it.

Get broken-hearted enough it's so hard to heal it.

You told me I was wrong and I started to feel it.

For a moment I'd forgotten who I am.

Now I'm rolling back the dark again. 🎵

Healing comes in waves.
I’ve had highs.
And more recently, I’ve been riding a low.

Yesterday, after therapy,
I sat by a pond I didn’t know existed, my
warm tea in my hand.

No place better to be.
Nothing better to do.

Then this song came on.
And for a moment, I remembered who I am.

Sometimes healing isn’t loud or triumphant.
Sometimes it’s just a simple moment
that brings you back to yourself.

My first time out of the country.
My first beach.
Shared with my best friend.
After years of saying one day
and finally choosing now.

I took some photos of us, of the sun rising and setting, but mostly I painted. I didn’t want to live this trip through a screen. I wanted to see it with my eyes. Feel it in my body.

There was a palette I kept returning to... colors like I’ve never seen them.

Magical. ✨

And leaving broke my heart a little. Mexico has always lived somewhere inside me. It's a part of me ❤️

This trip healed something in me.
And opened something too...
I don’t have words for all of it yet.

But I'll be back ❤️🇲🇽❤️
