Elisabeth Cadena knew she needed to make a change when her mother outwalked her on a trail.
“That was a wakeup call,” says Elisabeth, 50, a retired teacher who still teaches virtually part time. “I could barely move. Everything hurt. I was just so out of shape and so unhappy.”
She started eating healthier and lost 20 pounds. Then she decided it was time to get stronger, too.
She found Alloy, “I went to check it out and thought, This is what I need. And I love it,” she says. “I need a trainer, someone who pushes me out of my comfort zone and knows my limits and helps me get better. That’s what Alloy is about.”
Elisabeth has now lost about 45 pounds total, with a goal of losing 100 by next summer. More importantly, she’s stronger, happier and enjoying what her body can do.
“I almost feel like I’m young again when I’m in there doing these exercises,” she says.
Her biggest motivation is her daughter.
“I want to live long enough to see my daughter get married and have kids,” Elisabeth says. “Turning the page, I think, is saving my life. I feel happy. I want to be healthy. I want to live longer.”
