The Top 5 movements the casual exerciser is doing, yet doing wrong: đźš«
1. Rowing (the cardio machine)
2. Squats
3. Deadlifts
4. Push Ups
5. Kettlebell swings
We’ve worked with hundreds (thousands?) of people at Rampage, and oftentimes people already have a workout history before meeting us.
Usually they were self taught, so there was no coach to instruct and correct them.
These 5 movements are more prevalent to see in big box gyms than they were a decade ago, yet they’re still often done incorrectly.
At Rampage we teach (and reteach) everyone right at the beginning of their membership so they can get the most out of their workouts.
Here’s what we see going wrong ⬇️
• Rowing: Way too fast of a cadence + no hinge forward and overuse of the arms.
• Squatting: Not reaching full depth due to improper set up. Knees tracking straight forward or in + a significant forward lean
• Deadlift: Lowering the hips too much and letting the knees shoot forward. This causes the bar to have to move out and around the knees.
• Push Ups: Elbows out & hands too wide. Not going through a full range of motion (touch floor w/ chest to arms straight at top) and a sagging of the core/hips.
• Kettlebell swings: Squatting the swing instead of hinging at the hips.
We help people fix these simple mistakes early, which improves their performance and reduces risk of injury.
