Youth Cheer (grades K-6th)

The Metro Football League was founded in 1972 and has served Delaware County and the surrounding counties for 50 years. This organization is dedicated to all K-6th grade students interested in Youth Football. Each year the MFL brings together hundreds of young people and many adult volunteers to participate in and learn about both flag and tackle football in a wholesome, safe, structured, and fun environment. MFL considers competition healthy and instructive but de-emphasizes the importance of winning and instead promotes the importance of participation. The MFL is governed by a board of directors made up of coaches and interested volunteers. This board insures both the financial and philosophical integrity of the organization.

🚨 FLAG PRACTICE CANCELED 🚨

All Metro flag football practices are canceled tonight due to the heat advisory. The safety of our players and coaches comes first.

Please stay cool and hydrated! 🏈

⚠️ METRO HEAT UPDATE ⚠️

Due to the extreme heat and hydration concerns, all Metro practices scheduled for tonight and tomorrow have been canceled. Tomorrow evening’s game has also been postponed and will be rescheduled.

Coaches will have the option to hold practice Monday and will contact their families if they decide to do so.

The safety of our players and cheerleaders will always come first. Thank you for understanding!

🏈 OPENING DAY AT METRO! 🏈

As we get ready to kick off another great season tomorrow, we want to remind everyone of a few important rules:

🚭 No smoking or va**ng anywhere on Metro grounds.

🐕 No dogs are permitted on the grounds.

🚗 NO PARKING IN THE GRASS—AT ALL. Please park only in designated parking areas.

📣 Lester Raney Field will have cheerleaders this season. Please keep the cheer box area completely clear for cheerleaders and their coaches.

Metro has ZERO TOLERANCE for misconduct from fans or parents. Please be respectful toward players, coaches, officials, cheerleaders and one another. Anyone who cannot follow these expectations will be asked to leave.

Let’s set the right example for our kids and make opening day a great one!
