There are moments in life when you know a chapter is ending—not because you stopped loving it, but because you know it's time to faithfully hand it to someone else.
Today is one of those days.
After much prayer and planning, I want to share that CrossFit Morgantown has been sold.
Beginning August 1, Shawnee Weber will officially become the new owner and begin an exciting new chapter under a new name and in a new home.
This gym has never simply been a business to me.
It was Jeff's dream.
Together, we poured our hearts into building something that was never just about workouts. We wanted to create a place where people felt seen, challenged, encouraged, and loved. A place where strangers became friends and friends became family.
Then life changed.
COVID challenged every small business. Not long after, Jeff unexpectedly passed away, and overnight I found myself carrying a business that I had never imagined leading alone.
Some of those days were so hard.
But you carried me.
You showed up.
You kept believing in this place.
You loved my boys when they needed it most. You stood beside me at Jeff's memorial service. So many of you celebrated with us at our wedding years ago. You hosted my baby shower. You celebrated birthdays, mourned losses, prayed through impossible seasons, and became part of our family's story.
Somewhere along the way, CrossFit Morgantown stopped being just a gym.
It became home.
These last five years have been some of the hardest—and most meaningful—of my life. Together, we honored Jeff's legacy. Together, we proved that this community was always bigger than one person.
And because I love this community so much, choosing who would lead it next was one of the biggest decisions I've ever made.
I have complete confidence in Shawnee.
She has earned my trust serving this community with faith, integrity, compassion, and excellence. I know she will pour her whole heart into what comes next, and I cannot wait to watch her build something beautiful of her own.
Passing the torch is bittersweet.
There will never be another CrossFit Morgantown.
But what made this place special was never the building, the equipment, the phoenix, or the name.
It was always the people.
That doesn't end here.
As for me, while this chapter is closing, another is just beginning. God has been preparing my heart for what's next, and in the coming weeks I'll finally be able to share more about that journey. I hope you'll continue walking it with me.
To the founding owners, every member who has ever walked through our doors, and each person who played a role in CFM...
Thank you for trusting us.
Thank you for believing in Jeff's dream.
Thank you for helping me carry it.
And thank you for giving me the privilege of being part of your lives.
This isn't just the end of an era.
It's the beginning of a beautiful new one.
