Morning MASA,

We also have all the details on our website. http://www.mooresvilleadultsoccer.com
WEEK 6
Week 6 has arrived, and apparently nobody had any interest in keeping the scores sensible.
We had close games, goal-fests, hat tricks, double hat tricks, and at least one result that probably caused several defenders to stare quietly into the distance afterwards. Some interesting deflections around the goal mouth which would easily make any comedy reel.
The weather behaved itself, the football happened, and once again we have evidence that recreational soccer players will happily run around and then complain about their legs for the next three days.
WANDERERS 1–6 TITANS FC
Wanderers got themselves on the scoresheet through Lleyton Renner, but Titans FC eventually decided that one goal was nowhere near enough entertainment.
Jackson Baker led the charge with a hat trick, while Jordan Charles, Justin Deffenbaugh, Spencer Kehe and John Wvrocki all joined the party.
POM for Titans FC was Parker Dotson. Wanderers did not have a POM listed, although Lleyton Renner at least ensured the scoreboard didn't look quite as lonely.
A difficult evening for Wanderers, but credit for continuing to push when the score started getting rather unfriendly.
UNATHLETICO MADRID 2–2 WEAKLINK FC
A proper scrap of a game.
David Morley scored both goals for Unathletico Madrid, while Weaklink FC managed to find two of their own and take home a point.
No POMs were listed for either team, which is probably for the best because choosing one player from a match like this may have required a committee meeting.
Two goals each, one point each, and absolutely nobody leaving completely satisfied.
LOS MANCOS FC 1–13 VELOCITY FC
Velocity FC apparently arrived with absolutely no intention of checking the brakes.
Los Mancos FC got one through Udson Audath, but Velocity responded with THIRTEEN.
Irving Almaraz led the way with three, while Andres Bonilla, Anthony Wagner, Steven Velzaquez and Cristian Martinez all scored twice. Irving Avilez Hernandez and Christian Castillo added one apiece.
No POMs were listed, although when your team scores thirteen goals, there is probably a strong argument for simply handing the award to the entire attacking department.
TELAMETO FC 0–3 DA BURY
A much more controlled affair.
Da Bury kept a clean sheet and picked up three goals through Daniel Garcia, Ricky Maldonado and Pedro Perez.
Telameto FC battled away but couldn't find a way through, with Kwahmae Foster taking the POM for Telameto.
Da Bury didn't have a POM listed, but three goals, a clean sheet and a relatively peaceful evening will probably do nicely.
C-TOWN FC 1–2 TOSSERS REUNITED
A proper close one. Tossers Reunited edged C-Town FC2–1, with Brain Stepanek scoring for C-Town while also picking up their POM award.
Tossers got goals from Elliot Seal and Caleb Ginos, with Kendall Bertaux named POM.
A game where every goal mattered and nobody could afford to switch off for too long. Exactly the sort of match that keeps everyone awake right up until the final whistle.
TIBURONES ROJOS 6–5 REAL OLD
ELEVEN GOALS.
Apparently defending was optional.
Tiburones Rojos edged this absolute thriller 6–5, although the scorer information for Tiburones wasn't listed.
Real Old had goals from Sean Hayes, Dana Cuomo, Adam McDermott and Mark McConnell, with Mark helping himself to two and also being named POM.
Eleven goals, one-goal difference, and presumably several defenders now questioning whether they really needed to attend this particular evening.
FOOTBALLERS 4–2 SUNDERVILLE FC
Footballers picked up a solid 4–2 win over Sunderville FC.
Brian Cone, Richard Gavidia and Javier Portillo all found the net, with Richard Gavidia bagging two.
Brian Cone was named POM for Footballers, while Chris Antonsen picked up the award for Sunderville.
With Nick Velazquez getting two from distance in fine performance. Unfortunately for them, Footballers found four and were dangerous on the counter.
FCD40 6–4 GOT ANY ICY HOT
If the name Got Any Icy Hot wasn't already appropriate, it certainly was after this one.
FCD40 came away with a 6–4 win, with Huixtocihuatl Cibrian scoring twice alongside goals from Travis Bobb, David Correa, Chris Walker and Darren English.
Got Any Icy Hot stayed in the fight thanks to two from Brian Mortensen and one each from Justin Roath and Timothy Shafroth.
Huixtocihuatl Cibrian was POM for FCD40, while Brian Mortensen took it for Got Any Icy Hot.
Ten goals, plenty of running and absolutely no reason to complain about not getting enough attacking action.
CHAOS FC 3–4 MAZEPPA LEGENDS
The name Chaos FC may have been a fairly accurate description of this match. With them losing for the second week with a dramatic late goal.
Chaos got three through Philip Beasley and Moises Hernandez, with Moises scoring twice.
Mazeppa Legends just managed to stay ahead, thanks to two from PJ Brassard and one each from Bret Haynie and Hoeut Klauk.
Philip Beasley was POM for Chaos, while PJ Brassard picked up POM for Mazeppa.
A one-goal game, seven goals, and probably several moments where someone shouted "MARK HIM!" approximately three seconds too late.
TUZOS FC 3–2 CLUB ZARAGOZA
Tuzos FC came away with a narrow 3–2 victory.
Jose Perez, Axel Ramirez and Alexander Ramirez each found the net once for Tuzos.
Club Zaragoza pushed them all the way, with Jonathan Villatoro Paz named their POM, while Tuzos did not have a POM listed.
Another close game where five goals were enough to keep everyone interested and the final whistle probably came as a relief to both sides.
SMASHED FC 2–8 PRIME FÚTBOL
Prime Fútbol decided that two goals weren't quite enough and added six more.
Smashed FC got goals from Jose Calix and Erick Castillo, but Prime Fútbol responded with two from Danilo Bordogna, two from Landon Chapman, three from Antwan Gomez and one from Matthew Robinson.
Eddoe Rose was named POM for Smashed, while Matthew Robinson took POM for Prime Fútbol.
Antwan Gomez with three goals, Prime Fútbol with eight, and somewhere a Smashed defender is probably still trying to work out where everyone went.
REAL CAGUAMA 4–1 FRIJOLEROS FC
Real Caguama took care of business with a 4–1 win.
Magdiel Sevilla opened the scoring contribution, while Gustavo Medina decided one goal wasn't enough and added three.
Oscar Gonzale was named POM for Frijoleros FC, while no POM was listed for Real Caguama.
A comfortable result for Real Caguama and a particularly productive evening for Gustavo Medina.
MIXTIADO FC 7–3 BURNOUT FC
Another game where the goalkeepers probably deserved hazard pay.
Mixtiado FC scored seven, with Edgar Arroyo Santibanez producing a hat trick. Stephen Behnke, Jeffrey Cochran, Sebastian Rivera and Andrew Reese also got on the scoresheet.
Burnout FC fought back with three from Carter Birdsall.
Edgar Arroyo Santibanez was POM for Mixtiado, while Carter Birdsall was POM for Burnout.
Ten goals in total. Three from Carter. Three from Edgar. Apparently neither team received the memo about keeping things tight at the back.
TOFFEES FC 0–13 LA FAMILIA
There is no delicate way to describe this one.
La Familia absolutely ran riot.
Rocky Bravo scored four, Ryan Murphy scored four, Cole Sheets added three, and Travis Cartner and Juan Coto chipped in with one each.
Thirteen goals and a clean sheet for La Familia, with Rocky Bravo taking POM.
Renick Sides was named POM for Toffees FC, who unfortunately couldn't find a goal on the night.
Sometimes football gives you a lovely evening. Sometimes football gives you thirteen reasons to forget your first touch ever existed.
CCFC PHOENIX 4–3 RACE CITY HOOLIGANS
Now THIS is how you do a close game.
CCFC Phoenix edged Race City Hooligans 4–3, with Hogan Schrader scoring three and Kendrick Reese adding the fourth.
Race City kept things interesting through a goal from Dominick M. Lucarini and two from Ryan Guill.
Hogan Schrader was POM for CCFC Phoenix, while Dominick M. Lucarini took POM for Race City.
Seven goals, one-goal difference and absolutely no opportunity for anyone to relax until the final whistle.
BRISKET ROVERS 2–5 STEVEN AND FRIENDS
Brisket Rovers got two goals through Cameron Murray and Andrew Martin, but Steven and Friends eventually pulled away.
Jeremiah Bush, Julian Connor and Joshua Ruiz each scored once, while Juan Martinez added two.
Tommy Turner was named POM for Brisket Rovers, with Julian Connor taking POM for Steven and Friends.
A solid 5–2 win, although the name "Steven and Friends" is starting to sound less like a team and more like a group that has discovered they are quite good at football.
FC DIABOLICAL 9–3 TRASH PANDAS FC
And finally, because apparently Week 6 hadn't produced enough goals already, FC Diabolical finished the evening with NINE.
Ryan Luttrel, Curtis Lagman and Jake Herbert scored once each. Isaiah Wilkins, Jeffrey Moncada and Christopher Christiansen all scored twice.
Trash Pandas FC got two from Jason Reed and one from Khalid Lamont.
Jake Herbert was POM for FC Diabolical, while Jason Reed picked up POM for Trash Pandas.
Twelve goals in total. At this point we're not even pretending this is a soccer league anymore. It's just organised cardio with occasional defending.
WEEK 6 WRAP UP
Another week done and another collection of sore legs, questionable defending, heroic goalkeeping, ridiculous scorelines and people discovering muscles they didn't know existed. Thor, collecting masseur of the week!
We had tight games, goal-fests, hat tricks and enough goals to make the scorekeeper question whether they had accidentally joined a basketball league.
Thanks again to everyone for showing up, competing, battling through the games and keeping the season moving.
Keep the football going, keep the banter coming, and please remember that defending is still technically part of the sport.
See you on the field.
