The day ended a little earlier than we wanted, losing in the Gold Semi Finals but we had some positives throughout the day between timely hits and good pitching.

Congrats to pitcher Kaylee Perryman (2029) and her catcher Peyton Cheek (2029) on their 3-0 shutout in our first bracket game.

💣 Aleah Hickerson (2029) solo HR in our first bracket game as well.

Our tournament came to an end earlier than we had hoped after a hard-fought, 2+ hour battle against Fury Platinum this morning.

Kaylee Perryman (2029) was outstanding in the circle, throwing 6 scoreless innings and giving us every opportunity to come away with the win.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t come up with the timely hits or execute the bunts we needed in extra innings. We’ll learn from it, get back to work, and be ready for the next opportunity.

Day 2 started with a hard-fought win over Fury Platinum. Down by two in the final inning, the girls battled back to tie it before Bel Gaither (2029) delivered a sacrifice fly to bring home the winning run. Payton Martin (2029) got the start in the circle, with Kaylee Perryman (2029) coming in to help seal the comeback victory.

Game 2 kicked off bracket play as the #3 seed against a talented Firecrackers NC 28/29 squad. Aleah Hickerson (2029) got us on the board early with a two-run home run in the bottom of the second. After a 2+ hour lightning and rain delay, both teams traded punches in a battle that ended regulation tied 5-5, sending the game to international tiebreaker.

Khloe Ratliff (2030) came into the circle in ITB and kept Firecrackers off the scoreboard, giving our offense a chance. With the bases loaded, Megan Linebarger (2029) delivered a walk-off hit to send us to the next round.

In our final game of the day, we just weren’t ourselves and couldn’t get anything going against a very solid opponent.

We’re back on the field tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM, ready to battle our way through the losers bracket. These girls have shown all weekend they know how to respond. Let’s get after it! 🥎💪

Day 1 didn’t start the way we wanted. We dropped Game 1 after letting one slip away, but these girls responded in a big way.

Game 2: Down 2 runs in the final inning with time expired, the girls battled back for an incredible come-from-behind win. The rally was capped off by a walk-off hit from Kinslee Davis (2031). It was also a great effort in the circle from Olivia Self (2030), Khloe Ratliff (2030), and Kinslee Davis (2031).

Game 3: The momentum carried over as the bats stayed hot in an 8–1 win. Kinslee Davis (2031) was dominant, throwing 2 2/3 strong innings, before Kaylee Perryman (2029) came in to close it out and earn the save for the last out of the game.

We finish Day 1 with a 2–1 record and are back on the field tomorrow for one more pool play game before bracket play begins. Let’s keep it rolling! 💪🥎
