Brex dog got it done! 2nd time ever in a National A main - he looked great and can’t wait to see where he finishes in the A!

Quick update from Richmond!

After a handler mistake for the Senior Honda (if you know you know, if you don’t - we’ll explain later) we collected ourselves and kept pushing forward and made the best of the rest of the day.

🏁 Little Kalamazoo NYS Nationals Update 🏁

Talk about being thrown into the deep end! 😅

This weekend is our first-ever trip to Little Kalamazoo, and we came in at a huge disadvantage. Because we've committed to supporting our home club and running a full local schedule this season, we simply haven't had the opportunity to make the trip up here to test or practice beforehand.

Then, to make things even more interesting, we found out early Saturday morning that practice was canceled due to the potential for rain in the forecast. That meant zero practice laps, no setup notes, no track data, and no previous experience to lean on. We were essentially flying blind. 🤯

But despite all of that, both boys did an incredible job!

🏁 Brody | LWF Heat Race: Started 1st | Finished 3rd

Brody started on the pole and led the first couple of laps before unfortunately spinning himself out and having to restart from the rear of the field. Instead of letting it get to him, he cleared his head, stayed focused, and worked his way back through the field to finish 3rd. We made some adjustments back at the trailer, and he'll be ready for his B Main today!

🏁 Brody | Lt. 160 Heat Race: Started 6th | Finished 3rd

The gearing was a little off in this car, but Brody was still able to make forward progress and finish 3rd in his heat race. With the size of the field, that result earned him a P2 starting spot in the C Main. After making some adjustments in the pits, Brody went back out and drove to another 3rd-place finish, successfully transferring into today's B Main!

🏁 Brextyn | Jr. 160 Heat Race: Started 2nd | Finished 3rd

We were definitely nervous for this one because Brextyn has historically struggled a little with new tracks. But he spent the day watching races, studying the track, and learning as much as he could. When it was his turn, he put together some really consistent laps and brought home a 3rd-place finish, which earned him a P2 starting spot in today's B Main.

Overall, we couldn't be more proud of this team.

Nationals bring together the best of the best, and showing up to a club track you've never raced at, with no opportunity to test beforehand, and then losing practice on race day is a pretty tough hand to be dealt. But these boys adapted, stayed focused, and did exactly what they needed to do to keep themselves in the fight.

No excuses. Just hard work, determination, and a willingness to learn on the fly. 💪🏁
