NXG has never been a story about everyone being the same.

We started as a group of displaced people from different backgrounds, different circumstances, different stories—but together we created a place where we found belonging.

We started as unpolished, and unknown. Our "little club" started in a rough neighborhood, founded by a handful of misplaced people who found something through martial arts that was difficult to find elsewhere:

BELONGING & PURPOSE.

In our earliest days, we were viewed as the Bad News Bears of the martial arts scene.

But somewhere along the way, we proved to others what we had already learned ourselves...

OUR DIFFERENCES ARE OUR STRENGTH

People who might never have crossed paths anywhere else find themselves standing on the same mats, wearing the same colors, believing in each other and pulling in the same direction.

That little band of misfits became a community... and generation after generation, that community continues to grow, offering a place of belonging to people from different walks of life while collectively forming a solidly established academy in the region.

We'll always approach life as the underdog, because we have seen firsthand what the mentality can accomplish when a group of people choose to stand together.

☀️ 0530 EARLY BIRD JIU-JITSU ☀️

Our morning classes provide the same depth and diversity of skill and experience as our evening classes, just in a condensed package.

Today was an “ordinary” morning shared with extraordinary people including two Black Belts, a Brown Belt, three Blue Belts, and beginners as well.

Every class at NXG Combat Sports is an experience in shared knowledge ensuring everyone contributes and everyone grows.

Big congratulations to Chris on an undeniably well deserved promotion!

He’s invested the last 18 months in building a strong foundation, and proving his progress on the mats.

Competitively, he earned his way to the podium at ADCC Atlanta (his only loss being to the division winner), and this past weekend he earned 🥇 in an 18 person division at ADCC Nashville leaving no doubt he’s ready to progress to the next level.

Congratulations to our newest NXG Combat Sports / Tsunami Jiu-Jitsu Blue Belt… the mission continues!

Cruz went on a mission this weekend at the Combat Sparring League event hosted by BlackEye Athletics after a great seminar with Smokin Jo Nattawut 🇹🇭

An awesome display of heart and skill earned him the victory as another champion returns home this week to NXG Combat Sports!

Big shoutout to Hieu & Capshaw for carrying the coaching flag while we travelled north to ADCC 🏴‍☠️

ADCC Nashville hosted 1200+ athletes from around the country with an elevated level of competition in every division. This depth of skill and the volume of competitors definitely constitutes as “the deep end”.

We had some incredibly tough matches, some hard earned wins, and created growth only obtainable by being the man in the arena.

WIN OR LOSE = ZER🚫 EXCUSES‼️

The dust settled on a long day, with several members of our team earning their way to the podium and two of them earning the top spot.

🎊 HAPPY BIRTHDAY COACH JEREMY 🎊

An instrumental part of our team for more than 8 years, a brother to many in times of victory and in times of need, he is the lead instructor of our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Foundations Program and is the founder of Mission on the Mats a Christ-centered initiative building support groups to foster faith, discipleship, and Christian leadership in BJJ academies and beyond.

Happy Birthday brother, and may God continue to bless you for the blessing you are to so many!
