A Step Above Dance & Music Academy Celebrating 35 years of teaching excellent technique in a positive, educational environment!

We teach ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, creative movement, Dancergarten, hip hop, and musical theater to ages 2 through Adult in a positive, professional environment. We offer several different levels to help each student achieve their goals in dance.

We are so excited and incredibly grateful to share that A Step Above Dance & Music Academy has been voted Madison.com’s People’s Choice Award winner for Best Dance Studio!

This recognition means so much to us because YOU made it happen. Thank you to every family, dancer, friend, and supporter who took the time to vote for us and share your support.

For 38 seasons, our goal has been to provide a place where dancers can learn, grow, build confidence, and feel supported—all while receiving safe, age-appropriate dance education in a positive, family-friendly environment. We are incredibly proud of the community we have built together.

Awards are wonderful, but what means the most is knowing that our families believe in what we do. Thank you for trusting us with your dancers and for being such an important part of the A Step Above family.

Next week is Dance Discovery Week! Trial new classes and invite your friends!

Important reminders:
- Dance Discovery Week is one week only. All other trials must be approved at the front desk.
- Check eligibility! Trials must be for classes the student would be eligible to take during the year.
- Children’s Program (Creative Movement, Preballet, Primary 1–4): dancers must meet the age requirement. (Ex: a 7-year-old may only take Primary 4 or Primary 3/4.)
- No Graded Program trials unless the dancer has significant training and prior approval.
- Ages 8+: may attend correct Steps or Mixed Program classes (Step A–D, Acro, Modern, Kpop, Musical Theater, etc.). Graded dancers may join these classes with friends.
- Current students may also try new classes during this week, following the same eligibility rules.

Please Note: The following classes are FULL and NOT ELIGIBLE for trials on Dance Discovery Week (we wish we could, but there is only so much space in the studio for everyone!)

Hip Hop C/D
Acro C/D
Kpop A/B

If you’re unsure about class eligibility, please check with our front desk—we’re happy to help!

Referral Bonus: If your friend enrolls for 3+ months after their trial, you’ll receive a $50 tuition credit as our thank-you.
