The final chapter of an amazing weekend. 🙏💛

Here is the last set of photos from our earthquake relief seminar. Looking through these, it’s impossible not to feel the warmth, friendship, and true spirit of Aiki that filled the dojo.

Thank you once again to Florida Aikikai, our incredible instructors, and every single person who donated, trained, and stood with Venezuela. We did something truly beautiful together.

What a beautiful reminder of what a community can accomplish when people come together with a shared purpose.

This past Saturday, the Aikido community gathered in solidarity with Venezuela, and we are humbled by the response. Thanks to your generosity, we raised nearly $10,000 to support those affected by the devastating earthquakes.

Every donation, every mat fee, every shared post, every encouraging word, and every person who showed up made a difference. More than money, we witnessed compassion in action. Together, we are carrying not only much-needed aid, but also hope and love to the people of Venezuela.

A very special thank you to Florida Aikikai, and especially Peter and Penny Bernath, for so graciously opening the doors of your dojo to us. Your generosity, hospitality, and the incredible support of your members made this event possible. We are deeply grateful for the warmth with which you welcomed instructors and students from across our community.

To all of the instructors who donated their time, to every dojo that supported this effort, and to everyone who attended or contributed in any way—thank you. This is what Aikido is truly about: not only harmony on the mat, but compassion beyond it.

The people of Venezuela will know they are not alone. They will know that an Aikido family, spanning cities, states, and countries, stood with them when they needed it most.

A heartfelt thank you as well to our photographer, Walfredo Meleán, whose incredible work throughout the weekend captured not just the techniques on the mat, but the spirit of this event. Your talent has preserved these moments of generosity, friendship, and solidarity in a way that will continue to inspire long after the seminar has ended.

From the bottom of our hearts… thank you!

When tragedy strikes, distance should never become indifference.

Many of us have family, friends, memories, and roots in Venezuela.

Today, thousands of people need help after the devastating earthquakes that have left communities destroyed and families grieving.

Now we have an opportunity to put the values martial arts have taught us into action.

Join us for “Aikido in Solidarity with Venezuela.”

Whether you’ve trained for 30 years or are stepping onto the mat for the first time, everyone is welcome.

Come practice, learn, connect, and help make a difference.

There is no admission fee.
Just donate whatever you can. Every contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward relief efforts in Venezuela.

Can’t attend?

You can still make a meaningful impact:
• Donate if you’re able.
• Share this post with your friends and family.
• Help us spread awareness so we can reach more people.

Sometimes the most powerful technique we practice isn’t on the mat, it’s choosing to help another human being.

Thank you for standing with Venezuela. 🇻🇪

Small body. Big confidence.

During today’s kids class, M. practiced randori-style movement with Sensei Emmanuel Herzog, 6th dan Shihan. She stayed focused, kept moving, and confidently sent him rolling across the mat!

Of course, the goal is not simply to learn how to throw someone.

Through Aikido, children learn how to remain calm under pressure, move with purpose, build coordination, and trust themselves a little more each time they step onto the mat.

And sometimes, they also get the satisfaction of throwing a 6th-degree black belt.

Our kids classes help children build confidence, focus, discipline, and resilience while having fun.

Come try a class at Aikido Miramar.
