Hey All. Some of us from the shop will be helping Minneapolis Public Schools finish up their yearly bicycle fleet tune ups and fixes Tuesday morning so we decided to open a little later and give us time to get lunch and prep for the rest of the day.

Back by popular demand! Another edition of Twenty-Six Inch Tuesday is happening Sept. 22nd, 2026. Join Behind Bars Bicycle Shop ambassador Andy Andrew Amundsen for an evening of '80s and '90s 26" mountain bike love, appreciation and adventure. Meet at 6:30pm with a 7:00pm rollout. We encourage you to ride your vintage MTBs but you're also welcome to just come and celebrate the enthusiasm for the original 26er on any bike. There may be some fun challenges to win prizes for participants riding their classic mountain bikes. Ride will end Pryes Brewing Company where pizza and refreshments will be enjoyed.

Join Behind Bars Bicycle Shop Ambassador Robin Robin Heil for the Northeast Lakes Adventure Ride. This 50 mile, self-supported, mixed terrain bicycle ride takes us into the northeast suburbs, featuring lakes, lakes, and more lakes! The route is mostly paved, with a couple miles of smooth gravel, on bike paths and plenty of road sections.

The roads in this area are generally good for riding, with decent shoulders and 30mph speed limits. Riders must be comfortable riding with car traffic. Whether you're training for a big event, or just looking for new places to explore, this area is sure to become your new favorite place to ride.

When: Thursday, August 20th at 5:00 PM, Roll at 5:15.
Distance: 50 miles.
Pace: 12 - 14 mph

This is a "drop ride" meaning there is no lead or sweep keeping the group together. You must be able to navigate the route on your own. We will try to keep a pace group going at 12-14 mph, depending on terrain and weather.

Ahoy ye scurvy landlubbers! It be time for another voyage on the inland seas! Meet Behind Bars Bicycle Shop on Sunday the 16th of August at 11:30 am. We'll set sail at noon with a course plotted for Minneapolis Sailing Center to join them for their Free Sailing Sunday event, where riders are invited to climb aboard a vessel for a leisurely jaunt around Bde Maka Ska. Meet at Behind Bars Bicycle Shop for a social paced 4-5 mile ride to the festivities at Cedar-Riverside on the West Bank. 12 Noon meetup with a 12:15pm rollout. Ride will end at Cedarfest with no official return ride planned.
