We had a spectacular day on the Kinnickinnic today! Perfect conditions for good fun with a great group of paddlers!

We see cormorants every time we paddle at Silver Lake. There are also lots of them at the rookery islands on the Mississippi in NE Minneapolis.

Join us for Wednesday on the Water tomorrow night, August 26th, at Lake Johanna in Arden Hills! Weather looks perfect for a sunset paddle. We’ll be there from 6-8 pm. We still have a couple spots left for self-guided rentals. Just $20 for two hours. Email us at [email protected] to reserve.

This is our last week of Wednesday on the Water from 6-8 pm. In September we’ll switch to 5-7, as the days get shorter... 🍂🌅🍁

We enjoyed two nights and a gorgeous day on the Root River!

Last August our trip to the Root was cancelled due to floods. And this year we had a lot going on, so we almost missed going again. We’re so glad we were able to swing a last-minute trip… and that we had a great group that could join us on short notice, too! If you haven’t kayaked the Root River in Southeast Minnesota Driftless Area yet, you need to go do it! We did a section that was new to us, putting in at Parsley Bridge in Chatfield and paddling 13 miles to our takeout at Moen’s Bridge. The river was low, but there was still plenty of water to get through. We spent about 5.5 hours on the water, with a stop at a sandbar for lunch. The weather was perfect! There’s so much to do and see in this area. 🛶 ⛺️ 🚲 🍦 We will keep going back!

We’ve been too busy to plan a Friday Field Trip this week. But we are still hoping to kayak the Root River tomorrow near Chatfield, MN.
