⚡️CRA Rider Spotlight: Clay Miller🔥
1. What was your first ever experience with motorcycles? 🏍️
My first experience was getting a PW50 as a kid. We drove to the Grand Marais area to pick it up, and I rode it that night. The next morning, I promptly whiskey-throttled it and crashed. Never made that mistake again!
2. What first got you interested in road racing? 👀
I did my first track day at 16, the same year I got my motorcycle license, and kept doing track days for a couple years. Then I met Ike Messmore at DCTC, and he said, “Dude, you should come race at CRA.” Honestly, the people are what hooked me. You meet the coolest people at the racetrack.
3. What has racing taught you about yourself? 🎓
How capable I am. At Round 5 of 2025, I didn’t think I would make it through all the races after five in a row, but I kept getting back on the bike and finished the day strong. In just a couple years, I went from being scared to lean my R3 too much to confidently jumping on a 600 with full confidence in my abilities.
4. What advice would you give someone who's thinking about racing? 💪
More money does NOT equal more fun or faster lap times when you’re starting out. If you can’t have fun on a dirt-cheap bike, it might not be the sport for you. Wear proper gear, get as much track time as possible, stay consistent on one bike, and seek out advice from the faster guys. Not everyone, but there are plenty of people willing to mentor newer riders.
5. What's your favorite race weekend memory? 🧠
That’s a tough one! I love the late-night pit shenanigans, but on track, my first novice win is hard to beat. I went from 4th to 1st in Turn 4 on my R3 once, and I’ve had some pretty sweet double passes on my SV too.
FAST FIVE 🏃♂️💨
Favorite track?
Authobahn or Blackhawk
Dream motorcycle?
I don’t have just one, but something classic like a Ducati 916, 999, or a BMW R90s in the orange/cream color.
Favorite post-race meal?
Gotta be a chicken sandwich or a greasy burger.
Current favorite hype song?
Something from Daft Punk
If your bike could say one sentence to you, what would it be?
“Wash me at least once, you lazy bastard”

🏁 WHO WANTS TO HOST THE NEXT PIT PARTY?! 🏁
We’re looking for someone to host a pit party for the next round!
It could be you, your team, or even a group of people putting something together. Don’t feel like you need to come up with anything extravagant. These are all about having fun, hanging out, and bringing everyone together! So don’t overthink it. 😎
Got an idea? Want to host? Reach out to us! We’d love to hear from you and help make next race weekend even more fun! 🤩
The 5-Hour Endurance Race Has Been Cancelled 😞
We are saddened to share that we will not be holding the 5-hour endurance race.
The registration cutoff was last night, and while we were hopeful right to the very end, we received only 14 of the 20 team entries needed to make the event possible.
This endurance race was our "Plan B", added after popular request from our racers who wanted to see this endurance event happen this year. We were excited to give it a shot, but with registration falling short of the minimum needed to run the race, we are returning to our original plan of double sprints.
For everyone who pre-registered: you will receive a MotorSportReg credit to your account. We appreciate you signing up and supporting this!
Please know that we share in any disappointment that we couldn’t make it happen this time, but we’re hopeful we can bring the 5-hour race back in the future. ❤️🏁
LAST CALL TO SIGN UP 🏃♂️💨
This is it! We still need more teams to hold the endurance race. We can do this!! 💪
