It's now mid-August and Quinn Hughes remains unsigned beyond next season. What's taking so long...?
At this point, he is getting so expensive that (per Russo) it's becoming difficult for the Minnesota Wild to do business.
Josh Donaldson had some harsh words for Minnesota while discussing his time with the Twins... 😬

The Minnesota Twins showed very little fight against the Philadelphia Phillies Thursday in Iowa, at the Field of Dreams. Taj Bradley struggled through one of his worst starts this season, and the bullpen wasn't much better.
Offensively, the Twins got one solo homer from Luke Keaschall and Byron Buxton doubled in his return to play. Other than that, it wasn't pretty at the plate, as the "home team" went 0-for-5 w/RISP and left a total of 9 runners on base.
Final: Phillies 7, Twins 1
BUXTON: 1/4, 2B
JEFFERS: 2/3, BB, K
KEASCHALL: 2/2, HR, RBI
BRADLEY: 4 IP, 7 H, 5 ER, 4 BB

Starting Vikings right guard Will Fries was absent from practice Tuesday and Wednesday, and so far, no reason has been given for why...
Joe Huber took first-team reps in Fries' place both days, while Fries' absence has mostly flown under the radar amid all the QB headlines. Whether it's an undisclosed injury or something else, we still don't know what's keeping the 28-year-old off the field.

After practice on Wednesday JJ McCarthy met with media for the first time since losing the MN Vikings' QB competition to Kyler Murray.
To the young QB2's credit, he did his very best to quell recent speculation that he may demand a trade out of Minnesota because of an unwillingness to accept his new role.

The Minnesota Twins overcame another difficult start from Zebby Matthews Wednesday, grinding their way to a 7-5 victory at home against Orioles.
Offensively, both teams busted out in the third inning for seven total runs, but it was the home team who took the one lead in the bottom half and never gave it back.
After struggling with RISP Tuesday, SEVEN different Twins hitters logged an RBI today -- a group effort that scored them their first series victory if the month.
